1. Play is learning. It’s how kids build every skill they’ll need later in life from reading to writing to sports to relationships. The list of reasons why play is essential in our sessions is endless.
2. Risky play is encouraged. Testing limits, pushing boundaries, taking a risk that feels big to them…this is where problem-solving, confidence, and body awareness actually get built.
3. Sessions don’t always look “structured” and that’s on purpose. Kids learn best when play is on their own terms. My job isn’t to run a lesson plan; it’s to be the medium…observing what they need and shaping the environment around it, not the other way around.
4. Progress doesn’t look like it does at school or in a clinic. There’s no worksheet, no sticker chart, no “did they sit still.” Sometimes it’s a kid who used to melt down over wet socks and now just… doesn’t. That’s the data- it just looks different outdoors.
5. This works best with parents who show up, too. This isn’t drop-off-and-pick-up-an-hour-later therapy. It’s for parents ready to be part of the change & join in on parent consultations and follow through on weekly home activities. You’re with your child more than I am- I depend on you to make what I do work!
