Please join us tonight in person at our monthly meeting from 7:00 pm–9:00 pm at Erie 1 BOCES, 355 Harlem Road, West Seneca, New York.. This meeting is free and open to the public.

After our business meeting there will be a presentation: "Research Night: Breaking Through Our Members’ Brick Walls", hosted by PGSNYS members.

This Research Night will feature the same lively panel discussion format that was a hit at our August 2025 meeting.

Members were invited to submit their “brick wall” genealogy questions in advance. A team of experienced member researchers will review each question and develop strategies to help move the research forward.

During the meeting, the panel will tackle each submitted case, sharing the resources, records, and problem-solving techniques they used to make progress. Slides will highlight key steps and discoveries so everyone can learn from the process.

Whether you have a research challenge of your own or just want to pick up new research strategies, this is a night you won’t want to miss.

Bring us your questions—and let’s break down those brick walls together!

Upcoming lecture for those who may be interested.

Dr. Janette Silverman, the Senior Genealogist and Research Team & Client Relations Manager at Ancestry, will be speaking about her work and the historical importance of genealogical research. She will speaking at three locations from August 14-16, at Congregation Shir Shalom, at the Jewish Museum of Buffalo at Temple Beth Zion, and at the Delaware Avenue branch of the Buffalo Jewish Community Center. Admission to each of these lectures is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and larger groups are encouraged to reach out to the Jewish Museum of Buffalo to register.
