Before fall routines fully begin, take a moment to check in with your partner.
Schedules can fill up quickly with work, school, family responsibilities, appointments, and everything in between. Sometimes, connection gets pushed to the side without either person meaning for it to happen.
Before the pace picks up, ask each other:
• What feels most stressful about this next season?
• What kind of support would feel helpful?
• What do we want to protect time for?
• How can we stay connected when things get busy?
Connection doesn’t always require a big date or hours of uninterrupted time. Sometimes, it can look like sitting together, drawing each other, taking a walk, sharing a meal, or simply giving each other a few undistracted minutes.
Small moments of intention can create space to listen, reconnect, and remember that you’re on the same team.
If you and your partner are navigating a transition and would like support with communication and connection, Chicago Healing Connection is here to help.
