I think this is the part of my rebrand that’s hard to explain unless you’ve actually built a community around giving people advice.
I didn’t necessarily want to “leave” everything behind.
I just got tired of feeling like my value in a community was tied to what I could do for somebody.
Read this. Interpret that. Tell me why this happened. Tell me what I should do. Help me heal. Help me understand them.
And then sometimes, after giving people all of that, they still wouldn’t change anything, wouldn’t take accountability, and somehow the person giving the advice became part of the problem.
I wanted something more reciprocal.
Gaming and streaming communities are FAR from perfect 😂 but I’ve been able to just exist here. Talk about the things I love. Play retro games. Geek out over JRPGs. Go to anime conventions. Find weird indie horror games. Make dumb jokes. Be excited about fictional characters.
Nobody needs me to have an answer every five seconds.
I get to be me.
That’s what I’m building now. 🍵🌙
If the people who knew me before want to come along, I’d love that.
If not?
You can come or not. I’m still going.
