What an incredible experience at the ASGPP conference teaching Charting New Waters: Exploring Future Projections in Psychodrama!

We were deeply grateful for the energy, curiosity, playfulness, and courage in the room. There is something profoundly powerful about gathering together to explore possibility, spontaneity, and the many futures waiting to be imagined.

Thank you to everyone who showed up so fully—your willingness to engage, reflect, and step into the unknown made this experience unforgettable.

Feeling inspired, energized, and so appreciative of this vibrant psychodrama community. Here’s to charting new waters together.

Chicago Center for Psychodrama was proudly represented at this year's ASGPP awards ceremony! ✨

Brittany Lakin-Starr, Phd, TEP was honored as a Fellow of the ASGPP for her years of dedication, leadership, teaching, and passion for psychodrama.

From leading her Monday night psychodrama group for 14 years to a decade of training others in the power and practice of this method, Dr. Lakin-Starr's work has touched countless lives and helped grow the psychodrama community in a meaningful way.

Chicago Center for Psychodrama was grateful to be part of this year's wonderful line up and sends congratulations to all the 2026 award winners.

Still Soaking this in! We are deeply honored to be recognized with the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama-ASGPP Collaborator's Award at this year's conference.

First, we want to acknowledge Lorelei Goldman, of blessed memory, who originally brought us together.

Brittany founded the Chicago Center for Psychodrama in 2016 after becoming certified. But when she joined forces with Kate and Mallory, something powerful happened: spontaneity ignited. Kate’s curated space became our psychodrama training home, and together, our reach became far greater than any one of us could have imagined alone.

Through babies, illnesses, and life’s many changes, we have held each other up, pushed one another forward, and grown this work together. We expanded our training program, created the Accelerator, held open demos, presented twice at APA, and helped many people move toward healing.

We are grateful for our clients’ trust, our trainees’ passion, and our trainers’ wisdom. Thank you to those who taught us so generously: Judy Swallow, John Rasberry, Rebecca Walters, and Louise Lipman; and to Lorelei Goldman and Elaine Sachnoff, both of blessed memory. Your teachings live on in the work we do.

Thank you to our partners who love us and to our children for inspiring our playfulness.

In the spirit of February—a month often associated with love, tenderness, and connection—this training invites professionals to turn inward and explore the compassionate presence within. Drawing on psychodrama, sociometry, and contemporary compassion research, participants will engage in embodied action to access “the one who loves you”—the internal figure that offers warmth, acceptance, and unconditional regard. Through guided warm-ups, role development, and action methods, we will explore themes of self-compassion, emotional nourishment, and healing connection. Inspired by the work of Dr. Kristin Neff, Jack Kornfield, Dr. Brené Brown and psychodramatic role theory, this training provides a supportive and creative space for practitioners to deepen their capacity for self-kindness and to bring compassion-informed action into their clinical work.

Whether you are renewing your own self-compassion practice or looking to strengthen the compassionate roles you help clients embody, this day offers gentle, powerful psychodramatic learning to “come home to yourself.”

❄️ From Frost to Flourish: A One-Day Psychodrama Training 🌱 7 CES for IL Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, and Dietitians!! And Psychodrama and Drama Therapy Hours toward Certification.

Step into the new year with intention, clarity, and embodied action. This experiential psychodrama training invites you to explore personal and professional transformation by engaging mind, body, and heart.

In the quiet of winter, we create space to reflect, release roles that no longer serve us, and rehearse the identities we’re ready to step into. Through role-playing, empty-chair work, and action-based exercises, participants deepen self-awareness and leave with practical tools for ongoing growth—for themselves and the people they work with.

✨ What you’ll explore:
• Roles that support meaningful change
• Psychodramatic techniques to help guide change
• Embodied practices you can integrate into clinical and personal work
