Most massage schools teach anatomy and technique from day one. We do it in a different order — and there's a reason.

When students learn science first, they tend to massage from their heads: "Am I on the right muscle? Is that a bone?" We start with touch instead — body mechanics, communication, and the client's comfort — so presence comes before anatomy. The science lands better once your hands already understand.

After 28 years in the restaurant industry, Wayne decided it was time for a new chapter. He came to The New School for Massage to pursue a new career and become a licensed massage therapist.

But the career change became part of an even bigger life change. Wayne eventually traded Chicago for the beautiful island of St. Croix, where he now runs his own massage studio in Christiansted.
