First day of My Negrita Bella Beba taking meds orally....SUCCESS!!!!!! Well on her way of being g-tube free!!!!!

Well, we are back to square one.

Just getting back from a Doctors appointments to then have to go straight to the ER.

Had to take her to the ER because the area around her gtube is infected and gtube is leaking way too much. Had a couple of options, one being the removal of the tube and letting it close and putting in ANOTHER tube... big NO to that for now. There's no guarantee that what's happening now, will not happen w the new one. Another option is removing the tube and "wait" to find out of her current meds can be given to her via iv or pic line. Big NO to that because she can't go a day without her meds otherwise her Lupus numbers go haywire. So for now, tube stays in, new meds for the infection and to reduce stomach acid, and talk to her Rheumotologist and research if all her current meds can be administered through iv or pic line. Always risky, but since she can't do oral meds, we are between a rock and a hard place.

A Mother's Intuition is always on point. As I'm watching my K-drama in bed (insomnia), I have this urge to check on My Negrita Bella Beba w the excuse that I want the Flaming Cheetos she's got hidden in her backpack. And I find her wide awake and a bit anxious because her G-tube was leaking and her shirt was soaked. Time for quick action and thankfully she has a stash of supplies readily available in her room and in her bags.

*Won't post the pic of what was under the shirt because it isn't pretty. And yes, I take pics of what I find as being "off" to show doctors that I am not exaggerating or making stuff up. Because sometimes they give us that "look"

Praying Dr. will be able to see us asap in the morning. I'm at a loss.

With My Negrita Bella Beba. Having complications with her new Gtube.

Just got home and thankfully My Negrita Bella Beba's procedure went well. They did find infection, but has been taken care of and tube has been replaced. She's now resting at home w minor pain.

Well... that was an EXPERIENCE. My Negrita Bella Beba's test took about 10 minutes. Mind you, I had her on 2 Lorazepam pills to "ease" her,but as soon as we drove in... anxiety took over. It took some coaxing, me holding her head up, a male nurse to hold her arms down and the nurse administering the test. There was a lot of crying and screaming, but we were able to get the test done. Thank God and all of your thoughts and prayers. Now we wait for Tuesday.

On another note... hospitals should really consider an alternative form of COVID-19 testing for people with special needs. Because the trauma doesn't end after the test... the whole day is pretty much going to be an issue.
I mean it was traumatic even for me to watch and hold her. And to hear my baby crying saying they are going to dissect her brain... it was torture for us both.
