www.elysewagner.com What I realized is that it is SO much more than food and dieting and weighing yourself. I don't follow or endorse ANY specific diet plan, I'm a normal gal that had her own weight issue growing up and towards the journey to finding peace with "Obese Elyse" gained a dual masters in holsitic nutrition and clinical health psychology. It's been my journey and I want to share what I've learned with you. I searched for these key ingredients throughout my undergrad years getting my BS in Nutritional Science and then my graduate years getting a dual masters in holistic nutrition and health psychology. It wasn't until I created peace with my body and with food (and it wasn't that long ago) that I truly started flourishing. My mission in life is to help women just like myself, who make food or their bodies the enemy. I want to help you learn what I know and have been through in an accelerated way so you don't have to suffer and struggle any longer. I use my experience paired with my knowledge to create a safe space where women can expand in peace, love, awareness and success with their health around their food, attitude and body! I created a six-step Permission to Feel Fabulous program so that women could start to listen to their own internal guidance, find joy out of their body no matter what size jeans they are and send body shame and food guilt to the garbage! I dubbed the website and brand, My Kitchen Shrink, because I truly believe that every single person can be their own Kitchen Shrink, you have all the key ingredients to create a delicious recipe of health success. You have that secret sauce. All you need is a guide, I'll show you how! My goal is that once you are done with Permission To Feel Fabulous, you are your own 'Kitchen Shrink' and can begin to listen to your body and give it what it needs. Sunday gratitude dump. 🍂💗

A little fall fun, a little fresh air, a whole lot of gratitude, and probably an unreasonable amount of pumpkin-related activities. 😂🎃

But seriously…

I’ve been thinking about how freaking grateful I am for this community.

For the health coaches who keep showing up, asking bigger questions, challenging the status quo, doing the inner work AND finding the courage to put their gifts out into the world.

For the conversations, the connections, the wins, the messy middle, and ALL the beautiful humans who make this work so meaningful.

Building something you believe in takes heart. It takes guts. And sometimes it takes stepping away from your laptop, crunching through some leaves, and remembering there’s a whole beautiful LIFE happening outside your to-do list. 🍁

Because what’s the point of building a nourished business if we’re not actually LIVING a nourished life?!

UH HUH. THAT PART. 👏

So here’s to fall festivities, slowing down enough to soak it all in, and remembering how much there is to be grateful for.

Thank you for being here. For being YOU. And for being part of this little corner of the world.

My heart is full. 💗

Happy Sunday, beautiful humans! 🍂✨

We built health coach certifications before we built actual career pathways for health coaches. 🥴And I wish more people aren’t organizations were honest and transparent about this with health coaches.

And THAT is a problem.

For years, coaches were told:

Get trained.
Get certified.
Get board certified.
Healthcare needs you.

Then thousands of incredibly capable coaches finished all of that and were left asking:

“Okay…now where the hell do I go?”

This is the part of the industry conversation I’m no longer willing to tiptoe around.

I don’t want to keep telling health coaches, “There are opportunities out there.”

I want to help build the damn opportunities.

This week, I spent two hours with a physician who wants health coaches on his care teams.

Not as an afterthought.

Not as cheap labor.

He was literally asking how to compensate coaches for the time they spend preparing before sessions and following up afterward.

That is what it looks like when someone actually understands the VALUE of coaching.

And now CCCP coaches are sending their resumes over.

He wants coaches who are prepared for collaborative care.

He has a network of physicians who want health coaches.

The missing piece?

A real model for how to train, integrate, support and trust those coaches inside healthcare.

THAT is what we are building.

Not more certificates collecting dust.

Real preparation.
Real pathways.
Real partnerships.
Real opportunities.

This is the next era of health coaching.

And I want the coaches who are ready to lead it in the room now, not scrambling to catch up after the standard has already changed.

CCCP enrollment closes TOMORROW.

If you want to be part of the group helping define what comes next, DM me CCCP today.

Certified health coach? Cool. But if a physician dropped you into their care team tomorrow… would you actually know what the hell to do? 🩺🤷‍♀️

Foundational coaching competency is not the same thing as clinical readiness.

Healthcare requires more: documentation, scope, provider communication, workflows, safety escalation, outcomes and knowing how to function as part of a collaborative-care team.

That’s exactly why I created Certified Collaborative Care Practitioner™.

This is the next wave of health coaching.

You can wait for the industry to catch up, or you can help lead it there.

👉 Cohort 2 has started and doors officially close Friday.

DM me READY if you want the details.

Health coaches: 🤢🥴sick of seeing $25/hour jobs and wondering WTF you got certified for?

-HWC

I get it.

But I think we’re looking at the wrong thing.

These $22–$26/hour may not be the ceiling for a career built around health coaching. silverlines

It may be the compensation for one LEVEL of the career ladder. 💼🪜

And when you look at what happens as compensation rises, the pattern gets pretty clear. 👁️📈

Frontline coaching roles ask you to coach.

Higher-level roles start asking you to:

Lead.
Manage quality.
Develop people aka leadership
Build systems.
Understand operations.
Track outcomes.
Work cross-functionally.
Think strategically.
Understand the business side of care.

This is HUGE.

Because the person earning $100K+ is not necessarily doing “better coaching.”

They’re carrying more responsibility and a broader skill set.

And no, this does NOT mean one program magically qualifies someone for a $200K role.

Some of those positions require years of leadership and program-management experience.

That’s actually the point.

There is a developmental bridge between:

“I know how to coach.”

and

“I know how to function, communicate, lead and create value inside a larger healthcare system.”

THAT is the gap we are intentionally working to bridge inside Certified Collaborative Care Practitioner™.

We’re preparing coaches for the next layer:

clinical collaboration
provider communication
documentation
workflow
quality
outcomes
leadership
business acumen
and the ability to contribute beyond the individual coaching session

Because coaching competency can open the door.

But what you build on top of it determines how many doors may be available next.

If you’re ready to build the skills for what comes NEXT, DM me READY and I’ll send you the details on CCCP. 👏💥

This is for the health coach who keeps thinking: “I love coaching. I just don’t want my entire career to depend on becoming a full-time entrepreneur.” 🤷‍♀️

I SEE YOU. 👁️

Maybe your dream looks like:
🤝 Working alongside physicians
🤝 Joining a healthcare team
🤝 Supporting patients inside an established practice
🤝 Building strong provider referral relationships
🤝 Creating a hybrid career with BOTH
Those pathways matter.

But if we’re going to talk seriously about health coaches working inside healthcare, we also have to talk seriously about what healthcare requires from us.

That’s where Tuesday’s conversation is going.

Founder & CEO, Jennifer Lundman from the Institute for Behavior Change is joining me LIVE and we’re talking about:

Where the opportunities are.
What employers actually need.
Where coaches may still have readiness gaps.
And what clinical readiness really looks like.

⚡️ Tuesday, October 6 | 3:00–4:30 PM CT

👉Comment JOBS so you can join the conversation and I’ll send you access.

Can’t make it live? YES, there will be a recording.

See you there! Happy Sunday! 🫶☺️

You got certified. So… where are the health coaching jobs? 👀🤷‍♀️

Here’s the part our industry needs to get more honest about:

Knowing how to coach and knowing how to work inside healthcare are NOT the same thing. 🧐

And coaches are finding that out the hard way.

Dumping loads of $$, time and resources into more credentials. More CEs. More confusion. 💸⏳😖 without seeing a different end result.

Still asking:
What do employers actually want?

Well, Tuesday, I’m sitting down LIVE with Jennifer Lundman, Founder + CEO of the Institute for Behavior Change, and we’re ripping the Band-Aid off. 🩹❤️‍🩹

We’re talking:
→ Where the opportunities actually are
→ What healthcare employers are looking for
→ What “clinical readiness” really means

No fluff. No rah-rah.

Just the conversation health coaches need right now. And if I’m being really honest- the convo we should of had 10+ years ago.

Comment JOBS and I’ll send you access.
Yes, there will be a recording. 🤝🎥

See you Tuesday from 3-4:30 PM CT.

PS: Share with a health coaching colleague who needs to hear this convo too! 👂💌

“I KNOW I’m made for coaching.” 🥹

That was the sentence in her message that got me.

Not the $30/hour jobs.
Not the YEAR-long interview process that ultimately ended with a practice deciding they needed a dietitian.

THAT sentence.

Because I have met so many health coaches who know this work is what they’re here to do.

They’re smart, care deeply, invested in their education and can coach.

And yet somewhere between earning the credential and building an actual career, they hit this giant freaking gap. 😱

And THAT is the gap I can’t stop thinking about.

I don’t want health coaches spending the next five years collecting random certifications hoping one of them will finally be the thing that makes the career click.

I want a real pathway.
A pathway where you can say:
I know how to coach.
AND…
I know how to function inside collaborative care.

I have practiced it.
I have been observed.
I have received feedback.
I have real-world experience.
I know how to communicate with providers.
I know my scope.

And I know how to walk into the room ready to contribute CONFIDENTLY!

But here’s the other thing:
I don’t think coaches can solve this alone.
Healthcare has work to do too.

We need physicians + organizations who understand what coaches actually do.

We need better-defined roles.
We need practicum sites.
We need employers who know how to integrate coaches instead of hiring them and then wondering what the heck to do with them.

And I am committed to working on BOTH sides of that bridge.

That’s why CCCP exists.
Not because you need another piece of paper.

Because I believe health coaches deserve a clearer pathway from:

“I know I’m made for coaching.”
to
“I’m actually doing the work I’m made for.”

if you’ve been watching this week thinking…
Elyse. THIS is me.

Today is the day.

CCCP enrollment closes TODAY at 5 PM CT.

👉 DM me “CCCP” and I’ll send you the details.

Health coaches: a few extra CE credits are NOT the same thing as being prepared for clinical care. 👀

For years, the question has been:

“Do health coaches belong in healthcare?”

YES.

But the better question now is:

What does a health coach actually need to KNOW + DO to function safely + effectively inside clinical care?

That’s why the Job Task Analysis matters.

The 2016 HWC JTA helped define the foundational Health & Wellness Coach role.

The 2026 Clinical Health & Well-Being Coach JTA asks a different question for a different practice environment:

What competencies are actually required to perform the clinical health coaching role?

That means things like:

Clinical workflows.
Documentation.
Provider communication.
HIPAA.
Scope + boundaries.
Patient safety.
Working as part of a care team.

And here’s the distinction I really want health coaches to understand:

More information does not automatically create a new skill set.

You learn it.
Practice it.
Get observed.
Get feedback.
Apply it.

Because behavior change doesn’t happen in a weekend…

and neither does professional competency.

That’s why CCCP is being built around deeper education, supervised practice + real-world practicum experience.

And one more thing:

Foundational health coaching + clinical health coaching do NOT need to compete. FULL STOP.

They answer different needs.

Health coaches absolutely belong in healthcare.

Now let’s make damn sure we’re prepared for the rooms we’ve been asking to enter.

That’s the standard we’re building inside CCCP.

Next cohort starts October 5th and enrollment closes Friday at 5 PM CT.

👉 DM me “CCCP.”

Health coaches: being certified is NOT the same as being prepared to work inside healthcare. 👀

Foundational training matters.

It gives you coaching skills, behavior change, ethics + scope.

But functioning as part of a collaborative-care team requires another layer:

HIPAA. Documentation. Provider communication. Clinical workflows. Professional boundaries. Knowing when to coach, collaborate, refer + stay IN scope.

And providers have made something very clear to me:

They WANT health coaches.

They just don’t necessarily have time to teach them from the ground up how to function inside healthcare.

THAT is the gap.

And it’s why I’m so serious about what we’re building through CCCP.

CCCP is designed + mapped toward Institute for Behavior Change (IBC) accreditation standards for Clinical Health & Well-Being Coach education, and we’re preparing to begin the formal accreditation application process.

We’re building toward:

👉 225+ contact hours
👉 100+ supervised practicum hours
👉 Direct observation + supervisor feedback
👉 Deeper clinical + collaborative-care preparation

Because I don’t want to slap a few “clinical” modules onto another certification and call it innovation.

We are RAISING the standard.

And if an organization hires you as a HEALTH COACH?

I want you HEALTH COACHING.

Not becoming the random office catch-all with a coaching certification.

Collaborative care isn’t about becoming the doctor.

It’s about becoming exceptional at the role YOU are trained to play — and helping organizations understand how to use health coaches well.

Our next CCCP cohort starts October 5th.

Enrollment closes Friday at 5 PM CT.

Ready?
