As of October 1, 2026, eligibility rules for Illinois Medicaid have changed. Some noncitizens may have lost coverage.

Impacted members will have received a personalized notice by mail from DHS/HFS, so please update your contact info at ABE.Illinois.gov.

Individuals who lost Medicaid coverage can still get primary and preventive care. Federally Qualified Health Centers and free/charitable clinics serve uninsured and underinsured individuals regardless of immigration status or ability to pay. Find locations at www.illinoisfreeclinics.org and www.iphca.org/health-center-locator.

Sinai Community Institute's President, Debra Wesley, presented the "It's Personal" project at the Resilient Chicago Fund Cohort. "It's Personal" will be a technology-enabled Community Health Worker (CHW) system of care that will screen residents, refer them to services, and make sure they are connected to preventive care resources.

The cohort, sponsored by the Chicago Community Trust, discussed early learnings and challenges of partners' projects that included proposals to address healthcare, public benefits, food access and housing.

A Safe Visit for Everyone

Sinai Chicago is launching a new electronic visitor check-in system to enhance safety for patients, visitors, and caregivers.

Visitors will check in at a kiosk, receive a visitor pass, and complete a quick registration process before visiting loved ones.

Importantly, this is an internal Sinai Chicago system. Information entered is used only for visitor registration and Sinai Chicago business.

The Sinai Community Institute WIC Program is proud to partner with Catholic Charities to bring the WIC Mobile Grocery to our community!
The Mobile Grocery offers a variety of food items that active WIC participants can purchase using their WIC EBT card, making it easier and more convenient for families to access nutritious foods close to home.
