Matching Game Fun! πŸŽͺ*

Our older children worked on a circus-themed matching game today!

They matched elephants, lions, and circus tents while practicing memory and vocabulary. Lots of "I found a match!" excitement at the table.

Learning through play is the best kind of circus act πŸ’›

Today we made circus balloons with dot markers!

The children used bright colors to decorate their yellow balloon cutouts. Each dot was a chance to practice control and creativity while making their balloons look festive and fun. 🎈🎈πŸŽͺ

Ring Toss Challenge! 🎯🌈*

We took our circus games outside today!

The children practiced their aim and coordination with a classic ring toss game. Red, blue, and yellow rings flying through the air and lots of cheering when they landed on the pole. Nothing beats a sunny day and carnival games at daycare πŸ’›

Circus Week: Popcorn Finger Painting! πŸŽͺ🍿

Today we made our own popcorn art!

The children used yellow finger paint to create fluffy popcorn spilling out of a classic red and white striped bag. They loved getting their hands in and making each "kernel" with their fingerprints. Such a fun, messy way to bring the circus snack stand to our classroom!

Hula Hoop Performers! πŸŒˆπŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ*

Our little circus performers were outside practicing their hula hoop skills today!

The children worked on balance, coordination, and timing as they spun, rolled, and twirled colorful hoops just like circus acts. Lots of giggles, focus faces, and "look at me!" moments.πŸ’›

Today we read _Olivia Saves the Circus_! 🐷 πŸŽͺ
Olivia tells her class an amazing story about saving the circus all by herself when the performers get sick. She does every act β€” juggling, tightrope walking, even the lion tamer! The kids loved her confidence and giggled through the whole story.

After storytime we made our own circus tents for art! The children worked on *fine motor skills* by gluing white stripes of paper onto a red tent. This also gave us a chance to talk about *patterns and colors* β€” red and white stripes, just like a real circus tent.πŸŽͺ

Circus Week: Tightrope Walk! πŸŽͺ

We brought the circus to our classroom today!

A piece of tape on the floor became our tightrope. The children took turns pretending to be circus performers and practiced balancing their way across. Arms out, big smiles, and lots of "ta-da!" at the end πŸ‘

*What they practiced:*
*Gross Motor Skills* β†’ balance, coordination, body control
*Confidence* β†’ trying something new in front of friends
*Imagination* β†’ stepping into their circus performer role
*Self-Regulation* β†’ waiting for their turn and cheering each other on

They were so proud of their tightrope acts!

This week our theme is CIRCUS and we started by designing clown faces! 🀑

The children used pom-poms clipped to clothespins to paint bright, colorful clown hair. They chose their own colors and dabbed them on to give each clown a big, silly, one-of-a-kind look.

*What they practiced:*
*Fine Motor Skills* β†’ squeezing clothespins, dabbing paint
*Creativity* β†’ picking colors and designing hair styles
*Imagination* β†’ bringing their circus clowns to life

So much focus and so many giggles!
