‼️19 Days until the Cochranville Fire Company Carnival‼️

Tuesday July 21st through Saturday July 25th from 6-10pm each evening!

07/02/2026

Today is expected to be one of the hottest days of the year, with temperatures approaching 100°F across Southern Chester County. Extreme heat can become dangerous quickly, especially for older adults, young children, people with chronic medical conditions, outdoor workers, and pets.

A few simple precautions can help keep you and your family safe:

• Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.
• Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, generally between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
• Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and seek shade or air conditioning whenever possible.
• Never leave children, older adults, or pets unattended in a vehicle. Temperatures inside a parked car can become deadly within minutes.
• Check on neighbors, family members, and friends who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
• If you're working outdoors, take frequent breaks in the shade and drink water often.

Know the warning signs of heat-related illness:
• Heat exhaustion may include heavy sweating, dizziness, weakness, nausea, headache, or muscle cramps. Move to a cool place, sip water, and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.
• Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Symptoms can include confusion, loss of consciousness, hot or dry skin, seizures, or a body temperature above 103°F. Call 911 immediately and begin cooling the person while help is on the way.

Our crews will be standing by and ready to respond if you need us, but we encourage everyone to take a few extra precautions today to stay safe.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and look out for one another.
