Got to work on 3 lambs πŸ‘ and 1 goat 🐐today πŸ™‚

πŸ‘πŸ Invest in your livestock from the ground up.
Whether you're raising replacement stock, breeding animals, or show prospects, every advantage starts with supporting overall health and recovery. PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy is a non-invasive wellness modality that many livestock producers incorporate into their management programs to help support circulation, comfort, mobility, and recovery.
Healthy, comfortable animals are better equipped to reach their potential through every stage of production.
Our PEMF sessions are available for:
β€’ Lambs
β€’ Goats
β€’ Show projects
β€’ Breeding stock
β€’ Commercial livestock
Interested in learning how PEMF can fit into your livestock management program? Send us a message to schedule a session or ask questions.

πŸ‘πŸ„πŸ– Don't Forget to Deworm Your Livestock!

Internal parasites can rob your animals of the nutrients they need to grow, perform, and stay healthy. A strategic deworming program can help support weight gain, feed efficiency, immune function, and overall well-being.

βœ… Supports growth and performance
βœ… Helps maintain body condition
βœ… Promotes a healthy digestive system
βœ… Reduces parasite load and stress

Work with your veterinarian to develop a deworming plan that fits your herd or flock's needs.

Healthy animals start from the inside out! πŸ’œ

βœ… Protects the entire herd or flock
βœ… Helps animals stay healthy and perform at their best

Whether your animals are headed to the show barn, pasture, or sale ring, staying up to date on vaccinations is an important part of a successful health program.

πŸ‘πŸ„ What Is Ringworm?

Despite its name, ringworm isn't caused by a wormβ€”it's a contagious fungal infection that affects the skin, hair, and wool of animals.

Signs of Ringworm:
πŸ” Circular patches of hair loss
πŸ” Dry, crusty, or flaky skin
πŸ” Gray or white scaly lesions, often on the face, neck, or shoulders

How Do Animals Get It?
🦠 Direct contact with an infected animal
πŸͺ£ Shared equipment, brushes, halters, feeders, or pens
🏠 Fungal spores in the environment can survive for months

Who Is at Risk?
Young animals, stressed animals, and those housed in close quarters are often more susceptible to infection.

Prevention Tips:
βœ”οΈ Keep equipment clean and disinfected
βœ”οΈ Avoid sharing grooming supplies between animals
βœ”οΈ Isolate infected animals when possible
βœ”οΈ Practice good barn hygiene

Early detection and treatment can help prevent ringworm from spreading through the barn and keep your animals looking and feeling their best! πŸ’œ

πŸ‘πŸ„ What Is Hoof Rot?

Hoof rot is a bacterial infection that affects the tissue between and around an animal's hooves. It can cause swelling, tenderness, a foul odor, and lameness, making it painful for animals to walk and perform their best.

How do animals get it?
πŸ’§ Wet, muddy conditions soften the hoof tissue.
🦠 Bacteria enter through small cuts, cracks, or damaged skin.
🐾 The infection can spread when animals are exposed to contaminated environments.

Prevention Tips:
βœ”οΈ Keep pens and bedding clean and dry.
βœ”οΈ Practice regular hoof care and trimming.
βœ”οΈ Address foot injuries promptly.
βœ”οΈ Watch for early signs of limping or foot sensitivity.

Healthy hooves are the foundation of a healthy animal! Catching hoof issues early can help keep your livestock comfortable, productive, and show-ring ready. πŸ’œ

πŸ›πŸ›NEW WORLD SCREWWORMπŸ›πŸ›

The USDA and TAHC has confirmed a positive case of the new world screwworm in Texas this evening. The larva were found in a three week old calf on a ranch around La Pryor,TX. First line of defense sight inspection and checking livestock as much as possible. New born animals naval area is the leading spot for the fly to lay their eggs. It is treatable if detected early enough. There are some preventable measures with injectables and pour ons.
At this time unfortunately there is no feed additives for livestock and wildlife approved for use to put out for animals to consume to help with prevention.
ALL warm blooded species are targets if an open flesh wound is on the species is the most common if not new born. So try to keep from creating such spots and if do treat if with product to repel flies and an approved injectable and keep clean if possible to allow the animal to heal.
Consider not marking or hit iron branding or ear tagging at this time.
The fly will travel some during the daytime not much at night. Like temperatures above 45* so will make north during warm months back down when cools off. If suspect an animal contact your local veterinarian and Texas Animal Health Control. TACH is the one who has to send to larva to Ames, Iowa with a control ID # to get it β€œconfirmed”.
Currently USDA is producing 100M flies in Panama at the COPEG facility but this is a 50/50 male to female and the sterilization process if for the males. Fly release currently in Northern Mexico at about 80% and the other 20% in Texas.
As of last week late flies had been released in Kinney County along the border.
Plans have been moving forward for a facility in south Texas at Moore Field Air Base but production form there is set to be early 2028 according to what TAHC has told us. 300M flies from this facility. Another facility in Mexico is being converted from a fruit fly facility to produce screwworm fly with funds from USDA. Should be done end of this month with full production end of the year. 100M flies here.
Currently being told we need around 600M flies per week to get this pushed back down to south of Panama.

πŸ‘πŸ„ Hoof Rot Slowing Your Animal Down?

While MagnaWave doesn't treat the infection that causes hoof rot, it may help support the recovery process by increasing circulation, reducing inflammation, and easing discomfort in affected feet.

When combined with proper hoof care and veterinary treatment, PEMF therapy can be a valuable tool to help keep your livestock comfortable and moving better.

Healthy feet are the foundation of a healthy animal! πŸ’œ

β˜€οΈ Too Much Sun? Red Light Can Help! β˜€οΈ

Long days outside can sometimes lead to sunburned skin in livestock. Red light therapy may help support the body's natural healing process by reducing inflammation, improving circulation, and promoting healthy skin recovery.

Whether it's a pink nose, sensitive ears, or exposed skin after clipping, red light therapy can be a great addition to your animal wellness routine. β€οΈπŸ‘πŸ„πŸ–

Note: Severe sunburn, blistering, or signs of infection should be evaluated by a veterinarian.

πŸ‘πŸ„ Show season can be stressful!

From long trailer rides to unfamiliar barns and busy show days, our animals experience a lot of change. MagnaWave PEMF therapy may help promote relaxation, ease muscle tension, and support overall wellness during these stressful times.

A calmer, more comfortable animal is often better able to eat, rest, recover, and perform in the ring. πŸ’œ
