This is such an exciting announcement. It is great to see an industry leader like Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts commit to improving health equity and outcomes.
Scanning the report, 71% of African Am. compared to 82% of whites with BP control for Diabetics. Clearly, there is a lot of work to be done. Aligned incentives, rigorous measurement, transparent reporting, and a commitment to learn and being the best at getting better, are all key. Would love to learn more and partner to improve outcomes.
The novel approach employs the most powerful tool health insurers can wield — their dollars.
