Flag Retirement Ceremony at Berkley K of C Hall on Flag Day, June 14.

Our next event is our annual Flag Retirement Ceremony that will take place at 2:00 pm on Sunday June 14, 2026 at Holy Rosary Hall and K of C in Berkley. This is an RSVP event and would like to have a final head count on who is attending the Flag Retirement Ceremony and/or BBQ by June 10. Sir Knights feel free to invite your council members, but please let me know how many in your council will attend. We will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs (provided by Assembly 0482). Our Faithful Captain (Terry Clayton) and I will do our final shopping on June 12-13. We would like to welcome food items via pot luck style. So, if you would like to bring a dish to pass, we ask that if your last name begins A-L please bring a side dish and M-Z, please bring a dessert. Volunteering of beverages is welcome as well.

We also need help for meal prep (arrive to hall at 1:00 pm) and clean-up (plan on leaving hall at 6:30-7:00 pm) I will be circulating a sign-up sheet for helpers at our meeting on Tuesday June 2. Please keep in mind that we may have limited parking space in our lot due to the Flag Retirement (burning process). There is additional parking in some of the side streets.

Grief is difficult, but you don’t have to face it alone. Gramer Funeral Home is honored to host a Grief Share Program. Join us next Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 705 North Main Street, Clawson, MI 48017.

This program is held each month and is designed to help individuals manage the emotions and stresses of grief after the loss of a loved one. Each session includes a video featuring insights from counselors, pastors, and those who’ve experienced grief, followed by a group discussion to explore how the advice applies to your life. Whether you choose to speak or just listen, you will find comfort in being part of a supportive community.

You can join the group at any point during the series, and we encourage attending at least three sessions to help you determine if the group is right for you. June is National PTSD Awareness Month. The month raises awareness about the condition and treatment. Men, women, and children can experience PTSD as a result of trauma in their lives. There is no shame in seeking assistance.
Events due to combat, accidents, disasters, and abuse are just a few of the causes of PSTD. No matter the reason, PTSD is treatable, but not everyone seeks treatment. There is no shame in seeking assistance.
PTSD is not the person refusing to let go of the past, but the past refusing to let go of the person.
