We are incredibly grateful for the families, friends, referral partners, and community members who have supported Bayside Therapy Specialists over the years. It is truly an honor to serve children and families throughout Clearwater and New Port Richey.

At Bayside, we believe every child deserves to be seen as a whole person. Speech, feeding, and occupational therapy are just one piece of a child’s journey, which is why we value collaborating with like-minded professionals who share our commitment to doing what’s best for each family.

Is every tongue tie really a tongue tie? 🤔

Tongue ties have received a lot of attention in recent years—but not every feeding, speech, or oral function challenge is caused by a restrictive frenulum.

In many cases, the issue may be muscle tension, compensatory movement patterns, or reduced oral mobility rather than the tissue itself.

At Bayside Therapy Specialists, we take a whole-body, functional approach to evaluation. Before considering surgical intervention, we assess:

- Oral function
- Muscle tension
- Tongue mobility
- Feeding and swallowing skills
- Oral habits and breathing patterns

For some patients, deep tissue release and myofunctional techniques can improve mobility and function without the need for a procedure.

Every child is different, and treatment should be individualized—not one-size-fits-all.

A quick peek into today’s feeding therapy session with our wonderful graduate student, Stephany!

We worked through the sensory hierarchy while exploring new tastes, textures, and smells with apricots and oranges. Our patient squeezed fresh oranges to make juice and used fun shape cutters to create fruit shapes while building confidence with new foods.

Feeding therapy is always an adventure at Bayside Therapy Specialists! 🍑🧡

✨ Glitter + Play-Doh = instant speech therapy magic ✨

Today we turned simple Play-Doh balls into a glitter explosion and the kids were OBSESSED 😂💖

We worked on so many L words while playing:
🌟 glitter
🌟 roll
🌟 ball
🌟 love
🌟 a lot

The best therapy happens when kids don’t even realize they’re practicing 💕 Fair warning though… your Play-Doh table may sparkle for the next 6 months and you’ll probably need to restock your Play-Doh soon 😅✨
