In honor of Black Maternal Health Week, we’re launching our Mother’s Day campaign, because celebrating mothers should also mean supporting them 💐

This year’s theme calls for justice and joy, and we believe every Black mother deserves both.

This was exactly what we needed!

Two D.C.-based women opened a new virtual plant shop based in the nation’s capital, according to DCist.

Grounded was a subscription-based plant service that emphasized the wellness side of horticulture, with a mission to help people disconnect and decompress through the appreciation of plants. The company was founded by co-founders Mignon Hemsley and Danuelle Doswell, who connected through their shared love of plants.

Together, they offered the service in hopes of creating a different kind of self-care experience.

This past Saturday, the first day of Black Maternal Health Week 2026 ( ) and Black Doula Day, something historic was launched. 💜🌿

'Okunsola's Black Doula Rest Fund' is officially live, created to restore rest, wellness, and healing for Black Doulas across the diaspora. Envisioned by Okunsola M. Amadou and supported by seven Black Maternal Health organizations, including BMMA Alliance partners, Ancient Song, Georgia Black Doula Network , Jamaa Birth Village, ROOTT, Sankofa Reproductive Health & Healing Center, Missouri Community Doula Council, and Southern Birth Justice Network.

Black Doulas are on the frontlines of Black Maternal Health liberation every single day and they pour into their communities without pause. They deserve to be poured into in return. The fund will award 20 Rest and Wellness Care scholarships to Black Doulas across the globe annually.

So jazzed to see our own local legend Dr. Hartung out there training others in his craft through Breech Without Borders! Just last week a client of mine was told “you won’t find anyone in this area who will deliver a breech baby” and that her only choice was a c-section. THANKFULLY I told her that’s untrue 😅

Where are my people who’ve experienced the magic of delivering with Dr Hartung? He is theeeeee best amiright??
