I want to be honest and I hope you read this whole post.
As a group class instructor since 2012 who is now 47 years old, you would think by now I would be confident in myself as an instructor, by body, my knowledge and my abilities. But I am not. I doubt each and everything and second guess why I am even thinking about becoming a personal trainer
I am the WORSE at comparing myself to others. I see their hustle, their youth, their class numbers, how they look etc. and compare – YES I know I shouldn’t!!. You see here is the thing – over the last ten months, I have been eating through the depression of losing my mom which hit me so much worse than I thought it would since we knew it was coming. I am officially at my heaviest weight that I have ever been, despite teaching 2 to 3 classes a week.
I don’t like the way I look, I don’t like the way my clothes fit, and I really don’t like how I feel.
I am not saying all of this for a pity party. In my brain, I 100% know what I need to do. It’s what I tell my clients every day and 100% believe in.
I am saying this to show everyone, especially my clients / participants that everyone struggles. Everyone has bad seasons in life. It is how we come out of that season that shows who we are.
As I get ready for my month-long break from teaching at the PCC (I come back Sept. 10th) I am scared that everyone will move along, forget about me and realize the other instructors in our area soo much better than me and you see better results from them. I think this way every single time I take a longer break and it never happens – you all still come back 😊
I am scared that I will come back feeling worse about myself that will reflect on how I show up for my classes. I am also scared I am going to fail my exam once I finish studying for and get the confidence to take it.
So follow me along on my journey as I come out of this season and get to feeling more like me. Follow me along as I share what I am doing that works for me. Free of charge, no gimmicks, no spending money, just true on honest.
