Closing Ceremony of the 5-Day Disaster Preparedness, Search and Rescue, and Retrieval Operations Seminar
The Eastern Police District under the supervision of PBGEN Melecio M Buslig Jr., Officer-In-Charge through the District Special Training Unit of DPRMD headed by Bernard T. Merdegia, in partnership with High Threat Emergency Care Co., conducted the Closing Ceremony of the 5-Day Disaster Preparedness, Search and Rescue, and Retrieval Operations Seminar on June 5, 2026, at the EPD Headquarters Multi-purpose Hall, following the successful completion of the training conducted from June 1–5, 2026.
The activity was graced by PLTCOL Jandale I Sulit, Acting Chief, DPRMD and Mr. Ruel S. Kapunan, together with participating EPD personnel from PaMaMariSan CPS and DMFB.
The five-day seminar enhanced the knowledge, competencies, and operational capabilities of uniformed personnel in the conduct of Search, Rescue, and Retrieval Operations. Participants underwent intensive training on personal safety and survival, basic life-saving techniques, emergency response procedures, and disaster management operations to ensure preparedness and effective response during natural calamities such as typhoons, landslides, and earthquakes.
This endeavor underscores the commitment of EPD to continuously develop capable, responsive, and service-oriented police personnel in line with their sworn duty to Serve and Protect the Community, anchored on the “AAA” Policing Framework of the Regional Director, NCRPO, particularly its focus on developing Able Police Officers.
