Being a parent with a history of trauma means you’ve got double duty: you’re not just raising your kids, you’re also raising your inner child!

It’s like running a daycare with one extra, anxious, emotionally complicated kid…and surprise, that kid is you! 😅

It’s hard work. You might get triggered, lose your cool, or feel like you’re failing, especially if you are a high achiever.

But here’s the truth: getting triggered doesn’t make you a bad parent. It makes you a human one.

Instead of letting shame take the wheel, try to see those moments as opportunities for healing.

Each time you pause, take a breath, and choose a different response, you’re not just showing your kids what growth looks like, you’re also showing yourself. You’re re-parenting your inner child with every step, giving them the care and patience they missed out on.

So when you’re feeling overwhelmed, or blaming yourself remember: you’re doing twice (or 3x) the work, and that’s something to be proud of.

Progress isn’t about perfection,
it’s about showing up, learning, and doing better for both you and your kids.

Your kids know they are loved, and that might be way more than little you knew.

Parents today are more involved in their children's lives than previous generations, balancing roles as caregivers, educators, and emotional support. While this fosters strong family bonds, it can also lead to heightened stress and anxiety. The pressure to be "perfect" can result in burnout and neglect of personal well-being. If you're feeling overwhelmed, therapy can help restore balance and guide you toward a more positive life. You don't have to navigate this journey alone! Call today (719) 900-2168 or visit my website to schedule an appointment.

FREE The Anxious Generation!

The Anxious Generation highlights the rise in teen anxiety, fueled by social media, constant device use, and academic pressures. The book offers key recommendations to support teens’ mental well-being:

💬 Open dialogue – Encourage regular, meaningful conversations with parents and caregivers.
📱 Set screen time limits – Protect teens by reducing the negative impact of constant device use.
🤝 Professional support – Therapy and counseling can help teens manage anxiety in healthy ways.
⏳ Prioritize rest and downtime – Allow for unstructured time to recharge and reduce burnout.

By following these steps, we can guide our teens toward a healthier, balanced life. 💙

🌸 Loneliness in Motherhood: The Importance of Community and Support 🌸

Motherhood is often portrayed as a joyful journey, but many mothers experience profound loneliness despite being surrounded by family and friends. The demands of parenting, societal pressures, and personal expectations can make even the most dedicated moms feel isolated.

If you’re feeling alone, you’re not alone. It’s important to recognize that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Connecting with others who understand your experiences can provide comfort and encouragement.

Here’s why building a supportive community and seeking mental health support matters:

Emotional Connection: Sharing your feelings with others who understand can help alleviate the burden of loneliness and foster meaningful connections.

Practical Support: Community resources and support groups can offer practical advice and assistance, making the challenges of motherhood more manageable.

Mental Well-Being: Professional therapy can help address feelings of isolation, stress, and self-doubt, providing tools to improve your mental health and overall well-being.

Remember, it’s okay to reach out for help and connect with others. Whether through support groups, therapy, or simply talking to friends, there are resources available to help you feel less alone and more supported.

If you’re struggling or need someone to talk to, don’t hesitate to reach out. Your mental health and well-being are incredibly important. 💕
