For over a quarter of a millennium, Soldiers have answered the call to serve something greater than themselves—defending our nation, supporting communities, responding to crises, and standing ready wherever duty demands.

The Army is more than a uniform. It is a profession built on leadership, discipline, expertise, and selfless service. Every Soldier, regardless of rank or specialty, contributes to a mission that protects our freedoms and strengthens our nation.

As we honor this historic milestone, we thank the generations of Soldiers whose dedication, sacrifice, and commitment continue to inspire us all.

Happy 251st Birthday, U.S. Army!

Service is a value that inspires others—and MAHC is proud to celebrate two outstanding examples of that spirit.

Congratulations to our very own Ms. Shannon Morgan for being named Fort Jackson Volunteer of the Year in the Retiree Division, and to her son, Roman Morgan, for earning Volunteer of the Year in the Youth Division!

Their dedication to serving others reflects the very best of our community. We are incredibly proud to have such remarkable examples of selfless service representing Moncrief and Fort Jackson. Congratulations to both of you on this well-deserved recognition!

Excellence at the highest level was recognized today at the 2026 Military Health System Conference in Dallas, Texas.

Please join us in congratulating LTC (P) Jason Alisangco on being selected as a recipient of the 2025 Award for Advancement in Military Medicine.

Out of 7,497 military doctors across the Military Health System, only eight physicians were chosen for this prestigious honor — and LTC (P) Alisangco was one of them.

This recognition speaks volumes to his unwavering commitment to military medicine, patient care, and readiness. We are incredibly proud to have him as part of our Moncrief Army Health Clinic team and grateful for the impact he continues to make on Soldiers, Families, and the future of military healthcare.

Congratulations, LTC (P) Alisangco, on this outstanding achievement!

While representing MAHC at the Military Health System conference in Dallas, TX this week, our very own SFC Guy Muniz Jr., was presented a coin by Vice Admiral Darin Via, Director of the Defense Health Agency. SFC Muniz stepped forward to provide critical knowledge at a moment’s notice in front of more than 3,000 attendees.

We are grateful for leaders like Vice Admiral Via whose leadership and commitment to military medicine continue to inspire teams across the Defense Health Agency. Learning from exceptional leaders like him strengthens our mission and our readiness.

We are proud to see our Moncrief Champions representing healthcare excellence on a national stage.
