Dr. Pelletier, Mizzou EM resident Dr. Sadie Watson, and Hennepin Medical Education and Simulation Fellow Dr. Nicholas Maxwell delivered lectures and hands-on training for medical students, residents, nurses, and practicing clinicians during their recent trip to The Gambia.

Dr. Pelletier also taught the first osteopathic manipulative medicine course ever held in The Gambia!

Let’s get to know another one of our interns! Meet Dr. Luke Troyer!

📍 Hometown: Columbia, MO

🩺 MD: University of Missouri School of Medicine

🐯 Why Mizzou: I started in ortho and we had to do a rotation in the ED. I began to realize that the OR was too slow paced and I enjoyed the fast paced environment that the ED offered. Additionally, when I thought of Mizzou, the ED always felt like a great place as all the attendings are super supportive and supported me making this transition. I also developed great relationships with the ED residents and staff my first year and everyone felt like a family.

🏥 Outside of the ED: I like to play sports like pickleball, sand volleyball, go for hikes with my dogs and wife, and travel!

Congratulations to Dr. Mikayla Spires on receiving the Great Catch Award! She recognized subtle signs of an underlying heart condition and suggested a work-up for WPW, correctly diagnosing a previously undiagnosed condition.
