Skills Hide Inside Play ⭐

To a child, it’s play.

To us, it’s motor planning, hand strength, coordination, and problem solving.

Play-based pediatric occupational therapy allows children to build essential skills in ways that feel natural and engaging.

Skills grow best when they’re embedded in joy.

🎳 Bowling, dinner, and a whole lot of laughs

Bowling with our team and their families was such a fun way to spend time together outside of the day-to-day. It’s not often we get to slow down like this, and it meant a lot to just connect, laugh, and enjoy the night together.

There were a few strikes, plenty of gutter balls 😉, dinner after, and lots of laughs in between.

We’re really grateful for this team and the community we’ve built together 🤍

Regulation Before Expectation

We don’t start with expectations. ➡ We start with regulation.

When a child feels supported and regulated, attention improves, coordination strengthens, and participation increases.

Pediatric occupational therapy begins with the nervous system - because skills follow safety.

What Therapy Really Looks Like...

Pediatric occupational therapy doesn’t look like drills or worksheets.

It looks like play, movement, connection, and purposeful engagement.

Behind every activity is thoughtful clinical reasoning, but to a child, it simply feels meaningful and safe.

That’s how real growth happens. ♥

Before we show up for the children and families we support each day, we make space to connect with each other too - a little glimpse into our team 🤍

This night we spent time together at a pottery studio - learning how to throw on the wheel, getting a little messy, and trying something completely new.

Followed by dinner and lots of laughter.
Moments like this matter.
Because strong teams create safe, supportive spaces for kids to grow - and that’s always the goal.

Grateful for this team 🤍

We’re so excited to welcome Amanda Rage, MS, OTR/L, to the World of OT team! 🌿

Amanda is a pediatric occupational therapist who blends compassion, creativity, and movement to help children build the skills they need to live, learn, and play.

With experience across school-based, outpatient, and outdoor settings, Amanda understands how children generalize skills in different environments — and how real progress happens when therapy meets them where life happens.
She has completed advanced training in Sensory Integration and Processing, Zones of Regulation, Interactive Metronome, Astronaut Training, Primitive Reflex Integration, and the Powerfully You curriculum.

Her treatment style is child-led, family-centered, and play-based, designed to build confidence, resilience, and independence in every child she works with.

Outside of OT, Amanda enjoys exploring the Bay Area with her husband and their corgi, Oliver, teaching aerial yoga, crafting, running, and tending to her plants. 🌿
We’re thrilled to have Amanda join our mission of supporting the whole child — and their whole world. 💚

As OTs, we know sensory processing is more than a buzzword. It’s the foundation for how a child experiences daily life.

Whether you are supporting regulation for a child, or helping a parent understand why transitions are so hard, sensory integration is where the real connection begins.

At World of OT, we take a whole-child, whole-world approach, looking at how sensory needs show up across home, school, and community. Sensory profiles don’t stay in one setting, and neither should our interventions.

💡 Pro Tip: When in doubt, observe the environmental demands just as much as the child’s responses. The mismatch often reveals more than any checklist ever could.

How do you explain sensory processing to your teachers or parents? Drop your favorite analogy below 👇
