B Well Ayurveda Health Coach Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, NAMA Certified, Holistic Nurse, Health Coach, Reiki Master, Women’s Integrative and Functional Medicine Clinical Educator

Hello and welcome to B Well Ayurveda Health Coach with Betty Brown! I am a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, and received my Ayurvedic training from the California College of Ayurveda. I am a Registered Nurse (RN), with a BSN from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in 1992. As an RN, I worked primarily in Critical Care. The last 20+ years, I transitioned from working in a hospital setting to focus on my passion of health and wellness, engaging in community initiatives around preventative health measures. As I looked to further my studies in holistic and preventative health systems, I discovered Ayurveda. The holistic teachings of Ayurveda connected with my core beliefs of health, with the emphasis on nutrition, proper digestion, and living in balance with one’s mind, body and spirit. To me this is true holistic and preventative health care. Since I started studying Ayurveda in 2015, I have seen a profound change in my own personal physical, emotional and spiritual health as I have incorporated Ayurvedic self-care practices in my daily life. I experience improved physical wellness and improved digestion for maintaining my optimal weight. Ayurveda has taught me how to manage the stresses of life with greater ease and a sense of peace. Most importantly, Ayurveda offers me simple and effective empowering tools I can use in my everyday life allowing me to feel my best. I incorporate my passion for cooking through the lenses of Ayurveda, where food is considered medicine. I grew up in Korea where I have fond memories of foraging with my mother in the mountains for herbs and greens used to promote general health. Food not only satiates hunger, but supports the body’s natural abilities to detoxify, build new healthy tissues and fight off infection and diseases. I am also trained in other holistic supportive therapies such as meditation, hypnotherapy, and Reiki, which I incorporate in my Ayurvedic therapies. I am excited to share my knowledge Ayurveda with you. I know you will find a greater sense of control over your own health as I have found in my health management. It would be an honor to work with you. Welcome to your journey of health and wellness through Ayurveda!

Gratitude begins in our hearts and then dovetails into behavior. It almost always makes you willing to be of service, which is where the joy resides.

Even if our efforts of attention seem for years to be producing no result, one day a light that is in exact proportion to them will flood the soul.

We’re here for a little window. And to use that time to catch and share shards of light and laughter and grace seems to me the great story.

When we are open to beauty, it is more likely to appear to us. When we share that gift by pointing it out to others, we find we have even more of it to celebrate.

Can you see the holiness in those things you take for granted – a paved road or a washing machine? If you concentrate on finding what is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.

So encouraging that L-COVID has not been forgotten. It’s been 5 years since I was diagnosed with it. Im getting better, however this condition still affects every aspect of my life and every decision I make-what I eat, my activities, how I travel…

I’m no longer able to just go out for a walk, but need to consider if I need to bring a mask, or my emergency medicine/supplements just incase I encounter something in the environment that will affect my breathing.

I really appreciated hearing MPR’s conversation on L-COVID and the awareness it brings! Listening to callers sharing their stories clearly shows so many people are suffering.

I think MN Dept of Health has done a good job with offering helpful info on their website, and everyone , including the medical community needs to check it out!

It’s a valuable resource for people with L-COVID, or if you have a family member or friend living with this illness.

Even if you don’t live in MN, the information may be helpful .

It’s been six years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but many Minnesotans are still suffering its aftermath. Coming up at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, MPR News host Angela Davis talks about the extreme fatigue, brain fog and other symptoms of long COVID.
