The exhausting part of summer isn't a sign you're failing at it. It's a sign you're showing up for all of it.

Two things can be true. You can love this season and be wiped out by it.

Save this for the next long day. Send it to someone who's deep in it too.

You don't need a parenting book. You need two hours, a trail, and your kid.

On Saturday, June 13, we're taking dads and their kids into the woods at Highbanks Metro Park. A real trail. The native plants and animals of central Ohio. Games, crafts, and the kind of unstructured time that actually does something.

No phones. No pressure. No agenda except being there.

Dads walk out with a stronger connection to their kids and the land, plus a few simple tools for staying calm and steady once you're back home.

It's free. Space is capped at 25 families, so this one goes fast.

RSVP: email [email protected]

Hosted by Kids in Nature and The Ross Wellness Group, funded in partnership with the ADAMH Board of Franklin County.

Tag a dad who'd love this. Or send it to the one in your house.

The guys I talk to don’t usually come in saying they’re sad.

They come in saying they don’t know what they want for dinner. Or what they’d do with a free afternoon. Or what they used to like before everyone started needing something from them.

The wanting comes back. It just takes a while to trust it’s allowed.

If this is sitting with you, save it. If you know someone who’s gone quiet about heat he actually wants, send it to him.

The guys who walk in with the longest list usually need the shortest one.

A lot of what gets called “I’m overwhelmed“ it’s just a man who’s been told for twenty years that the answer to feeling stretched thin is to get better at being stretched thin.

The work isn’t another thing on the list. It’s permission to take things off.

Save this if you’ve been carrying too many things for too long.

Spent most of my twenties being whatever the room needed.

Took me until my thirties to figure out the tiredness wasn't a personality flaw. It was the bill coming due.

If pulling back has felt like failing, it isn't. It's the body asking you to stop spending energy you don't have on people who don't notice when it's gone.

Save this if it lands. Send it to him if he's the one going quiet.

Most of the men I sit with are trying to think their way out of how they feel.

It almost never works. Not because they’re not smart enough. Because the thing they’re stuck in lives in their body, not their head, and you can’t outsmart your nervous system from inside the same room you’ve been sitting in for six months.

Save this for the next time you’re stuck. Send it to him if he’s been spinning.

Thinking about it is not deciding.

It's the most socially acceptable way to say no without having to say no. It feels responsible. It feels patient. It feels like you're being thoughtful.

You've been thinking about it for months. Maybe longer.

The decision isn't whether to do the work. The decision is whether to stop pretending you haven't already made one.

The thing that keeps most guys from booking a consult isn't the money or the time. It's the size of the decision they think they're making.

So let me make it smaller.

A free consult is 30 minutes. You and me on a call. No commitment, no pitch, no clipboard. Just a conversation that helps you figure out if this is the right next step.

That's it. That's the whole thing.

Link in bio when you're ready.

This is the part of the work nobody warns you about. You can know exactly what you're doing and still do it.

The point isn't to be a perfect version of yourself. The point is to keep choosing against the slow fade, even when the easy choice is right there.

Save this for the version of you that needs to hear it.

The guys who end up in my office almost never describe a moment when things went wrong. They describe a year. Maybe two. A stretch of time where they kept telling themselves they'd handle it later.

Later is the third choice. And it's the one most of us are making right now.

Save this for someone who's been quiet for a while.
