Congratulations to Carrie Shaffer, Care Transition Nurse in Lima, for being recognized for Customer Focus!

Carrie plays an important role on our hospice team, meeting with patients and families during some of the most difficult and emotional moments of their lives. She isn’t afraid to have the hard conversations, answer difficult questions and help families navigate decisions surrounding end-of-life care.

Carrie is always willing to go wherever she is needed to make sure patients and families understand their options and feel supported throughout the transition to hospice.

Our Hospice Memory Bear Program gives volunteers an opportunity to use their creativity to create something incredibly special for families experiencing loss.

Memory bears are handmade from a loved one's clothing, creating a keepsake families can hold onto for years to come. Volunteers help bring these bears to life, and sewing experience is helpful but not required. Materials are provided, and the opportunity offers flexible, project-based involvement.

It's just one of the many ways our hospice volunteers use their time and talents to make a difference.
