Moms are reaching out for help, and we want to be able to say yes. 💜

Birth & Beyond Incorporated is raising funds to support the families who turn to us. Your contribution will help provide supplies for expecting moms, restock formula in our pantry, and pay our doulas to provide postpartum care for moms who need extra support after bringing their babies home. Donations will also help meet other organizational needs that keep this work going.

With funding scarce and requests for support growing, we need our community. Every contribution helps us show up for more families with care, compassion, and practical support.

Meet Sarah Finisterre! Hi! I’m Sarah, a certified birth doula serving families in Central Ohio. I am a caregiver by nature with a passion for helping you feel supported throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. I’ve always had a special interest in birth work and was a doula for family and friends before I even knew what a doula did. Once my kids were both in school full-time, I decided to transition from nannying to professional doula work.

I am a mom to two kiddos, both born by C-section. My first C-section was medically necessary and felt like a very medicalized experience. My second C-section was an elective repeat. I didn’t have a doula for either delivery, and I wish I had known more about doula care at the time because I could have benefited from having someone explain my options and support my choices, especially the second time around. I learned that birth doesn’t have to look a certain way for you to deserve care and support, and I’m grateful to now be able to provide that support to you and your family.

I love building a relationship with you during pregnancy—providing evidence-based information and emotional support, helping you create a birth plan, and helping you feel empowered to make decisions for yourself. In labor, I am your biggest cheerleader combined with your pit crew. I’ll encourage you, help with hands-on comfort measures, and create space for you to stop and think so you can make informed decisions and stay in control of your labor. I love watching you fall in love with your baby after delivery, and I have a network of resources on hand to help support your postpartum needs.

I believe you should feel confident about the decisions you make for your labor, no matter what you choose. There isn’t one “right” way to give birth. You deserve to have the facts and information you need to make informed decisions. My role isn’t to make decisions for you; it’s to help you find the information you need and support your choices. You deserve to feel informed, supported, respected, and in control of your labor. I’m here to support you in whatever way you need.

Meet Charuta, a DONA-trained birth and postpartum doula serving families in Central Ohio through Birth & Beyond. With master’s degrees in Virology and Public Health and over 15 years of experience in healthcare and clinical research, she brings an evidence-based approach to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. As a mother of two, she also understands firsthand the profound and sacred transition into parenthood.

Charuta believes informed choices are empowered choices, and that every family deserves not only compassionate support, but also the confidence to ask questions, understand their options, and have their voice heard during one of life’s most transformative experiences. She provides continuous emotional and physical support, evidence-based information, comfort measures, and respectful advocacy to help clients navigate conversations with their healthcare team and make informed decisions aligned with their values and birth preferences.

Known for her calm presence, empathy, and active listening, Charuta strives to create a space where families feel safe, supported, and truly heard. Her care is further enriched by holistic postpartum principles rooted in Ayurveda and other traditional practices that nurture recovery, nourishment, and overall well-being. She welcomes families of all backgrounds and birth preferences and is fluent in English, Hindi, and Marathi.

Meet Lea Azeltine!

Lea is a birth doula serving families throughout Central Ohio.

Before entering birth work, she spent years as a health, mindset, and trauma coach, leading transformational retreats in Costa Rica and helping women reconnect with themselves through healing, education, and personal growth. Guiding women has always been her calling.
When she became a mother herself, birth changed everything. Experiencing the power (and deep uncovering) of pregnancy, labor, and motherhood firsthand made becoming a doula feel like the most natural next step.

Lea believes birth is about so much more than bringing a baby into the world. It is a powerful rite of passage that has the potential to transform a woman’s relationship with herself. She’s passionate about helping mothers prepare mentally and emotionally just as much as physically, because how a woman feels during her birth matters.

Her approach blends evidence-based education with wholehearted support, helping families navigate pregnancy, labor, and postpartum with confidence, peace, and trust in themselves.

Lea considers it an incredible privilege to walk alongside women as they cross the threshold into motherhood, creating space for birth to become not only a meaningful beginning, but a deeply empowering experience. We are SO honored to have Lea as a Birth and Beyond Doula!!
