✨ A tongue-tie is often more complex than simply cutting a piece of tissue.
Many parents are told that a release will solve feeding challenges overnight. While a release can be an important part of treatment, it's often only one piece of the puzzle.
Feeding is a whole-body activity.
The tongue, jaw, neck, posture, breathing, and nervous system all work together. When babies develop tension patterns or movement restrictions, those patterns can impact how efficiently they feed and function.
This is why I often recommend support both before and after a tongue-tie release.
💛 Before a release, therapy can help:
• Reduce body tension
• Improve feeding mechanics
• Prepare the body for change
💛 After a release, therapy can help:
• Retrain movement patterns
• Improve tongue function
• Support more efficient feeding
When we support the whole baby—not just the tongue—we see the most gains.
