Nurtured Roots Midwifery

As midwives, we support and assist the birthing parents in their journey through pregnancy, labor, birth and the postpartum period. It is our belief that pregnancy and childbirth are normal, healthy life processes, and life-altering spiritual family events rather than medical emergencies. We believe that women make good choices for themselves and their families when given adequate information and

support. We offer families information and support, and trust the parent(s) to make the best choices for their family. We have faith in a woman's amazing ability to nourish and birth her baby because we know that women's bodies have been refined over countless generations to do so. Women are designed to give birth and babies are designed to be born, and we know that the process of birth has intrinsic value for both mother and baby. We offer a biodynamic model of care that allows each baby’s birth to unfold in its own unique way. While well-being of mother and baby are the center of midwifery care, we understand that there is a realm of what is normal for each pair. We are committed to providing woman-centered, individualized care to meet the needs of each woman, and her family, in this powerful time of growth and transformation.
