Before the week gets busy, I take a little time to prepare.

My Sunday routine includes organizing my medications and reviewing my appointments for the week. It helps me see what’s coming and feel more prepared.

💬 What’s one thing you do to get ready for your week? Please leave a comment below—I’d like to hear what works for you.

Everybody wants takeout—but you’re trying to stick to your eating plan without feeling left out.

That can be a frustrating spot to be in. Looking at the menu together before ordering gives you a chance to speak up:

“I want to join you, but let’s find something that fits MY eating plan.”

What helps you stay with your eating plan when the family orders takeout? Share your approach in the comments.

Your needs deserve a place at the table, too.

Don’t just check your blood pressure. Keep a record.

The American Heart Association recommends taking two readings, one minute apart, each time you measure at home. Record both readings with the date and time.

Share your record with your care team. Readings over time give them a clearer picture than one number alone.

Ask your care team how often to check and which readings should prompt a call.

“Did I already take my medicine?”

A weekly medication planner can help you build a routine you can check. Choose compartments that match your prescribed schedule, such as morning, afternoon, and evening.

Ask your pharmacist which medicines can go in the planner and how to fill it correctly.

Still unsure whether you took a dose? Don’t guess or take another just in case. Contact your pharmacist or care team for guidance.

Start small. Make movement a habit.

A short walk or chair exercises can be a starting point. Choose movement that fits your ability and the plan you’ve discussed with your care team.

Pick one manageable activity and a time you can return to consistently. Build from there at your own pace.

What helps you stay consistent with movement?

Before you buy it, compare the sodium.

Start with one food you buy regularly:
✓ Compare two versions.
✓ Check that the serving sizes match.
✓ Compare sodium per serving and look for an option with less sodium that fits your eating plan.

One food. One change. Start this week.

When I was first diagnosed with kidney disease, I didn’t know which questions to ask—or what I needed to understand.

After living with kidney disease, dialysis, and two kidney transplants, there are things I wish someone had explained sooner.

That’s why I created this free guide:
“7 Things I Wish I Knew Sooner About Kidney Disease.”

It’s a plain-language starting point for people living with kidney disease and the people who support them.
