💜 Our Activity and Therapy Departments recently hosted a Dementia Awareness Event for patients, residents, family members, and loved ones. Together, we wore purple, created festive hats, and discussed the importance of dementia awareness, supporting those affected, and ways to promote brain health.

A special thank you to Eric Flores for Congress for sharing his personal experience, as well as Ms. DeHoyos from Corpus Christi Healthcare at Home, the Red Hat Lady, Ms. Aguilar, and Ms. Allende for their participation and support. We also appreciate everyone who attended and helped make this event a meaningful day focused on compassion, dignity, and hope. ✨️

This week, our Activity and Therapy team members came together for a meaningful project in recognition of Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month. 💜

Led by our Occupational Therapist, Abby—a Certified Dementia Practitioner—residents created The Button Tree, a collaborative art piece with thoughtful symbolism. The tree and its roots represent our history and memories, while the branches reflect the ways we support and encourage one another. 🎨🌲

Projects like this provide an opportunity for creativity, conversation, and connection while honoring the importance of brain health and dementia awareness.

🇺🇸 Just in time for Independence Day, Mr. Reeves, two of our veteran residents, and a family member proudly raised our new American flag. The flag was respectfully displayed in accordance with the Federal Flag Code, while veterans saluted and others placed their hands over their hearts. 💙

Our worn flag was retired with the respect it deserved. Thank you to everyone who helped honor this meaningful tradition as we celebrate our nation's 250th birthday. ⭐

There's something special about watching creativity come to life, one brushstroke at a time. 🎨🖌️ During our "Painting with Nathan" sessions, residents are encouraged to express themselves, try new techniques, and build confidence as artists.

Guided by our Activity Assistant, Nathan, each class is filled with creativity, conversation, and lots of fun! Every masterpiece is uniquely their own, and we're proud to display their beautiful artwork in our gallery. 🖼️✨

✂️💇‍♀️ We had twenty-five students and teachers from The Salon and Spa at Southern Careers Institute - Corpus Christi visit over the weekend! Residents and patients enjoyed free haircuts and styles as part of the students' hands-on training, and they left feeling refreshed and looking great! 💙

This marks our third event with the school, and we always enjoy having them. Thank you for stopping by and spending time with us! ✨
