War Heroes on Water WHOW is an annual healing and therapeutic sportfishing tournament serving combat wounded veterans.

WHOW operates under the guidance of Freedom Alliance, an IRS-registered 501c3 charity. All funds raised are for the benefit of Freedom Alliance’s programs. All funds raised by the tournament are for the benefit of Freedom Alliance’s programs and services. The distribution of any raised proceeds is done at the discretion of Freedom Alliance.

The ninth annual War Heroes on Water Presented by loanDepot brought 130 combat-wounded Veterans together with Southern California’s sportfishing community, including more than 60 yachts and their dedicated owners, captains and crews, for an extraordinary experience centered on fishing, healing, connection and camaraderie.

Today, we are looking back at the extraordinary send-off they received during Saturday’s patriotic opening ceremonies and boat parade.

This year’s event marks the largest fundraising year in WHOW history, demonstrating the extraordinary commitment of the community that continues to rally around our veterans and their families.

More than 130 combat-wounded Veterans and 60 donated yachts came together for a weekend built on connection, camaraderie, and community.

While the numbers are incredible, the real impact is found in the friendships formed, stories shared, and support that continues long after the boats return to shore.
