June is Men's Mental Health Month

Mental health is an important part of overall health, yet many men are less likely to seek help when they are struggling. This month, we encourage men throughout our community to prioritize their mental well-being and know that support is available.

Stress, anxiety, depression, substance use, and other mental health challenges can affect anyone. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness; it is a positive step toward better health and a better quality of life.

How you can help:
• Check in on the men in your life.
• Encourage open, honest conversations about mental health.
• Listen without judgment.
• Remind others that seeking professional support is a sign of strength.

At Pines Health Services, we believe mental health care is health care. If you or someone you know is struggling, our team is here to help. For mental health emergencies, please call 9-8-8.

- Gear Up: Treat your clothing and footwear with an insect repellent containing 0.5% permethrin.
- Repellents: Use EPA-approved repellents like DEET, picaridin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus while hiking or walking in wooded areas.
- Tick Checks: Shower immediately after coming indoors and thoroughly check your body, gear, and pets.
- Removal: If you are bitten, use fine-tipped tweezers to pull the tick straight out as close to the skin as possible

Have questions about tick bites or tick-born disease symptoms? Pines Health is here to help.

Annual OB/GYN visits are still important after menopause. Regular visits help monitor pelvic health, breast health, bone health, and changes that may need attention.
Menopause may be common, but you don’t have to “just live with” uncomfortable symptoms. Hot flashes, sleep problems, bladder leakage, and vaginal dryness can often be treated. Talk with your provider about options.
Also, postmenopausal bleeding should never be ignored. Even light spotting after menopause should be checked by a healthcare provider.
