I just got the best news every YESTERDAY and on my MOM's BIRTHDAY!!

I am OFFICIALLY on the list. I've been answering every call. Even the "private number" phone calls.

I am thanking and praising God for this answered prayer.

Now we just wait to see if Abby gets on her wait list :)

Just a little update.

I went to the retina specialist yesterday. I told him about a bleed I had the day before.

I was only supposed to get one eye injection but ended up with one in each eye.

Good morning!

Let’s start with a Bible Verse today before I breakdown all the doctor’s appointments from this week.

Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)
“ But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

This is a great reminder for me that by waiting on the LORD I shall have renewed strength. I will be doing that by staying in God’s word and also going to church to bring HIM all honor, praise, and glory. Only HE can do this!

Tuesday, I had an appointment with hematology (blood doctor). He said my anemia is staying steady as a mild case. He will now see me once a year unless things change and my blood work shows a difference in numbers.

Of course, their scales said I weighed 205 at the office. I told the nurse that I was working out everyday and it was not making sense. She said that she could tell a difference in how I looked in Jan and now. That it takes time. I told her I just didn’t want Emory to kick me off the transplant list for not reaching 190 pounds like they set for me.

I know it takes time, but it’s aggravating when you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing and that scale ain’t budging and you have a stipulation over your head. Maybe by the time I see the transplant team in the next year, I ill be where I need to be.

Yesterday I woke up with back pain. I don’t know what I did. I’m assuming I tweaked a muscle. I took the day off from the gym.

I had a nephrology visit yesterday to go over labs and talk about next steps. When I arrived at the office, I was the ONLY patient in there and it was quiet. Within 5 minutes this man came in upset and causing a scene. It was terrifying, but I prayed and asked God to give me the words to calm him down. And HE did. He gave me the exact words that I needed to say to the man and he calmed down. When I was called back I told the ladies that I hoped he stayed calm the rest of the time in the office. Apparently, he had missed his appointment time because he was late. Well duh, you’re supposed to call the office to see if they can take the next patient and put you in the next patient’s time slot. It’s not that hard.

Anyways, labs were stable, numbers looked good. However, he said that It was time to be referred out to Emory vascular for a port placement so that it can mature before I have to go on dialysis. Apparently, it takes six months to mature. I was rather upset about it and he said, “Don’t lose hope. I just saw two patients today that I sent in for ports to have mature. As their numbers were declining and they were getting ready to go on dialysis, they received kidney transplants.

Aug 13 I go to Vascular for the initial intake on having a port placed.

It's crazy to think that two months ago I could NOT walk his type of an incline.

On the treadmill it was a 3.5% incline at 2.5 mph. I am so proud of myself for increasing.

Also what a great non scale victory.

Praise The LORD for He is good!
I was told it would take up to a month to hear back from insurance on approval for going on the kidney transplant wait list.
I'm sitting here crying tears of joy for the LORD has done it!
Ain't He good?
I got the approval of the insurance company. Now I just gotta wait on Terri to call me and tell me they officially put me on the transplant list!
God I'm just grateful for you! Who am I that you keep me on your mind, God I'm just grateful for you

Heard back from Emory. The surgeons approved me for the wait list.

Now we wait on the insurance to approve it then I go on the wait list.

This can take 30 days. So now I'm back to waiting :) I'm getting better at this waiting thing.

Good morning!

Look at that! For most of my time I was on a 2.5% incline. But the last few minutes I took it down to 0.

Not because of fatigue, but because I ate a bit of pork last night and that pork did NOT agree with me this morning. The hotter I got while working out the more my tummy was rolling. I even took some pepto tablets this morning to settle my stomach.

I am doing too good to take a day off just for a little indigestion / upset tummy. I try not to take too many days. most of the time, I take a day off if my hip or knee are totally inflamed.

If I go based off the old school "beam" scale (like you used to step on at the doctors offices) at the Y, I weigh 187. That means I am 3 pounds below that 190 goal.

I could careless about the pounds. I am more interested in the inches.

For example, I have a sports bra that was NOT comfy when I first bought it. When I took it out of the drawer, I decided to try it out. And guess what? IT FITS COMFORTABLY!

I am so proud of myself.

Anyways, the picture on the right shows my treadmill walk via gps through goggle fitbit. That thing is hilarious on how it says my treadmill walk went.

So there is an update for now. My next doctor follow up is on 7/22 with Nephrology.

Two fierce fighters, one shared goal: a second chance at life. 💚

Kristy is a 44-year-old mom whose kidney function has dropped to critical levels following complications from diabetes and open-heart surgery. Her 13-year-old daughter, Abby, was born with stage 3 kidney failure, an irregularly shaped single kidney, and faces additional challenges with autism and VACTERL syndrome.

With over 100,000 people currently on the national transplant waiting list, this mother-daughter duo is searching for their perfect living kidney matches. Because their family members are unable to donate due to medical reasons, they are relying on the kindness of the community to help share their story. Kristy hopes to receive a transplant first—not only to be healthy for her daughter, but to show Abby that she, too, can survive this battle.

Share this post to help them find a match, raise awareness for living donation, and read their full, inspiring story at EndTheWait.net. 💚
