A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the OARI fall seminar yesterday for a day of learning and connecting with each other. Virtual continuing education is a great option, but nothing beats getting together in person and sharing stories, challenges and laughs. Maybe that's just me getting old 👵🏻!

Inspiring content was led by Jamie Speth, OD, Elliott Reshard, Glenn Batteiger, George Bourque Jr. ABOM, NCLE, LDO and Cassandra Hains. Thank you all for traveling and supporting learning in RI.

Licensed Optician Part Time

Location: North Kingstown, RI
Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM; Friday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: $35-$45 per hour, based on experience
Start Date: ASAP

About the Opportunity

SafeVision is seeking a licensed optician to support an established onsite optical dispensary at one of our customer locations in North Kingstown, RI.

The optical center is fully equipped and stocked with inventory. The optician will work directly with employees, assisting with eyewear selection, fittings, adjustments, and order placement through the SafeVision program.

This is a long-term opportunity with a consistent weekly schedule and the potential for additional hours as the program continues to grow.

Responsibilities

Assist employees with selecting safety and prescription eyewear
Perform frame fittings and adjustments
Take and verify measurements as needed
Place eyewear orders through the SafeVision system
Educate employees on available eyewear options and benefits
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional optical area
Provide outstanding customer service
Qualifications

Current Optician License required
Previous optical dispensing experience preferred
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently
Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented
Experience with eyewear fittings, adjustments, and frame selection
