Our fifth summer at Camp Milligan has officially come to a close. While we're sad to say goodbye, we are incredibly grateful for the memories, laughter, and friendships we shared over the past ten weeks. Thank you to all of our amazing campers and families for making this another unforgettable summer!
Week 8 – Treasure Island 🏴☠️
Our treasure-filled adventures began with a trip to the Montgomery County 4-H Fair, where campers completed a fun scavenger hunt, visited adorable animals, and explored projects created by some of our very own Camp Milligan 4-H members. Of course, no fair trip would be complete without enjoying a refreshing lemon shake-up before heading back to camp for pirate-themed games, sensory activities, and plenty of laughs.
Later in the week, we visited Columbian Park Zoo and Tropicanoe Cove Water Park. Campers loved seeing all of the animals—especially the playful goats! We wrapped up the day by cooling off in the pool, racing down water slides, and making lasting memories with friends and counselors.
Week 9 – Camp Creators 🎨
Creativity took center stage during Week 9! Campers participated in a week-long boat-building challenge, designing boats that not only floated but raced across the Milligan pool. It quickly became a camp favorite, and many campers are already asking to make it an annual tradition.
Our younger campers explored their creativity with loose parts, cardboard, tape, and plenty of imagination. We also enjoyed an exciting field trip to Painting with a Twist for a glow-in-the-dark painting experience, complete with a glow party, slime-making, lunch at Hot Box Pizza, and a sweet treat from Cold Stone Creamery.
We ended the week with our annual Camp Milligan Talent Show. Nearly every camper took the stage to share a talent or special interest with family and friends. We couldn't have been prouder of their confidence, creativity, and willingness to shine!
Week 10 – Best Summer EVER! ☀️
We always save some extra excitement for our final week together! Campers enjoyed a trip to the movie theater to watch Minions and Monsters during our Disney/Pop Culture Day. Tuesday brought one of our favorite traditions—a camp-wide Glow Party—and on Wednesday we headed to Malibu Jack's Indoor Theme Park for one last unforgettable field trip.
Thursday was our special VIP Camper & Counselor Day, where every member of the Camp Milligan family was recognized with awards and tokens of appreciation for helping make this summer so special.
Our final Friday was filled with all of our favorite camp traditions—playing outside, swimming, creating crafts, and signing one another's camp T-shirts. It was the perfect way to celebrate an incredible summer together.
As another Camp Milligan summer comes to an end, our hearts are full. Camp Milligan is so much more than a summer program—it's a place where friendships are built, confidence grows, new adventures begin, and lifelong memories are made. Thank you to North Montgomery Community School Corp for supporting our transportation this summer, Crawfordsville Community School Corporation for providing breakfast and lunch for all of our campers, Purdue Extension - Montgomery County for visiting us each week and hosting a fun activity for the kids, and Crawfordsville District Public Library for reading to our campers each week.
We are truly grateful for every camper, family, and staff member who made this summer so special, and we can't wait to do it all again next year!
