💚 A beautiful day celebrating the Gift of Life! 💙

Today, Nelda and her family were proud to attend Lifebanc’s Gift of Life Walk at Blossom Music Center — a day filled with hope, gratitude, remembrance, and an incredible community brought together by the life-changing gift of organ donation.

This year’s walk was especially meaningful for Nelda. Not only was she surrounded by her family, but some of the amazing University Hospitals Heart Failure Unit providers who helped care for her throughout her journey were there too.

For Nelda, the message on the sign says it all:

“I’m alive because someone said, ‘Yes.’”

One donor’s decision gave Nelda the opportunity for more days like today — more time with family, more memories, and more life. That is exactly why NRD, INC. continues working to spread awareness about the importance of organ donation.

We are so grateful for Lifebanc, the incredible healthcare professionals who care for transplant patients, donor families, recipients, and every person who has chosen to give the Gift of Life. 💙💚

✨ One year. One incredible gift. One powerful reminder of why organ donation matters. ❤️

Earlier this month, we celebrated the one-year anniversary of Nelda’s life-saving heart transplant. On July 8, she reached an incredible milestone, and we’re grateful every day for the selfless decision made by her donor and their family.

To help share her journey and the importance of organ donation, Spectrum News visited Nelda and Larry at their home to film a special Feel Good Friday segment. They even joined them as they packed for their camping trip to the Finger Lakes—a trip that serves as a beautiful reminder of all the moments made possible because of the gift of life.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch their story. Every registered organ donor has the potential to save lives and give families more time together, more adventures, and more memories.

One year since her heart transplant, one Ohio woman reflects on how far she has come.

Hello Everyone! 💚
I want to share something very important with you.

Today is the first anniversary of my heart transplant. I feel truly blessed that someone like me chose to become an organ donor.

This journey has had its challenges, with both difficult moments and blessings along the way. The love and support of my family and friends have meant so much, and I believe God has heard every prayer. I still have more healing ahead, so please keep praying. And please remind everyone you know how important organ donation is. Donors come in all shapes and sizes—even yours.
