🦶🔍 Corns and calluses seem harmless — until they start hurting, cracking, or coming back no matter how many times you file them down.
What's really going on:
✔️ They form from repeated friction or pressure — often from shoes that don't fit quite right
✔️ Left alone, they can thicken, crack, and even lead to infection
✔️ DIY removal (razors, harsh acids) can do more harm than good
✔️ Recurring corns can be a sign of an underlying foot structure issue
A podiatrist can safely treat the callus and get to the actual cause — instead of just knocking it back for a few weeks. 🩹

What happens during a total ankle replacement?

Dr. Jonathan Pajouh explains how damaged ankle-joint surfaces can be replaced with an implant designed to relieve arthritis pain while preserving motion. Newer planning tools may also help surgeons prepare a more patient-specific approach.

Total ankle replacement is not appropriate for everyone. A detailed evaluation can help determine whether replacement, fusion, or continued conservative care makes the most sense.

👋 If you’re new to my social feed, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Dr. Jonathan Pajouh, a foot and ankle surgeon and the physician behind Neighborhood Foot & Ankle.

I chose this profession because I genuinely love helping people. Foot and ankle pain can affect nearly every part of a person’s life—from working and exercising to traveling, playing with their children or simply walking comfortably. My goal is never just to treat a condition. It is to listen, understand what each patient is experiencing and create a personalized treatment plan that helps them return to the life they enjoy.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing a patient’s confidence return when they can move comfortably again. Whether someone needs conservative care, a second opinion or a surgical solution, I want every patient to feel heard, informed and confident in the care they receive.

Outside of medicine, my wife and son are my entire world. Being a husband and father keeps me grounded and reminds me every day that each patient who walks through my door is someone’s spouse, parent, child or best friend. I treat that responsibility with the seriousness and compassion it deserves.

I’m grateful you’re here, and I look forward to sharing helpful information about foot and ankle health, treatment options and a little more about the person behind the scrubs.

Thank you for following along—and welcome to my page!

🦿🔧 If years of ankle arthritis or old injuries have left you avoiding stairs, sidelining hobbies, or just quietly dealing with constant pain — you may have more options than you think.
Total Ankle Replacement is designed for patients with severe ankle arthritis or joint damage, replacing the damaged joint surfaces to relieve pain and restore more natural motion than older fusion-only approaches.
It's not the right fit for everyone, and that's exactly why an in-depth evaluation matters — to find out what will actually get you back to moving comfortably. 🚶

🦴🦶 Foot and ankle arthritis doesn't always announce itself with dramatic pain — it often creeps in as stiffness you chalk up to “getting older.”
Signs worth paying attention to:
✔️ Morning stiffness that takes a while to work out
✔️ Swelling around a joint after activity
✔️ Pain that changes with the weather
✔️ Reduced range of motion in the foot or ankle
The earlier arthritis is addressed, the more options you have — from conservative treatment to joint-preserving procedures — before it limits your mobility long-term.
Don't write off the ache. Get it checked. ✅

🧒🦶 As kids gear up for fall sports, heel pain is one of the most common (and most misunderstood) complaints we see in young athletes.
It's often written off as “growing pains” — but it may actually be Sever's Disease, an inflammation of the growth plate in the heel that's common in active, growing kids (especially ages 8-14) right as back-to-school sports ramp up.
Signs to watch for:
✔️ Heel pain that shows up during or after running, jumping, or sports
✔️ Limping, especially after practice
✔️ Tenderness when squeezing the sides of the heel
✔️ Pain that improves with rest, then returns with activity
The good news: with the right care — stretching, supportive shoes, activity modification — most kids recover fully and keep playing. Catching it early just means less discomfort along the way. ✅

🦶📏 Everyone assumes flat feet are just something you're born with and live with — but for many people, flat feet progress over time and start causing real pain.
Signs it's more than cosmetic:
✔️ Aching along the arch or inner ankle
✔️ Swelling after standing or walking
✔️ A foot that seems to be getting flatter over time
✔️ Pain that changes how you walk
For more advanced cases, Flat Foot Reconstruction can restore your foot's natural structure and function — not just manage the symptoms, but address the underlying alignment.
If your arches have been quietly getting worse, it's worth a real evaluation. 🔍
