Why an Alebrije? Why a Monarch with Deer Antlers?

When we created Happy Autumn Centro de Empowerment, we wanted a symbol that reflected not only the journey of our clients, but also the values that guide our team.
Our counseling logo is a unique alebrije inspired by a monarch butterfly with deer antlers.

The monarch butterfly represents transformation, resilience, and the courage to navigate change. Many of the individuals we serve come to us during challenging seasons of life—struggling with anxiety, trauma, OCD, depression, or major life transitions. Like the monarch, they are learning to move through uncertainty and discover their own strength.

The deer symbolizes gentleness, wisdom, and growth. Antlers are shed and regrown, reminding us that healing is not a straight path. Growth often comes through discomfort, reflection, and perseverance.

We chose an alebrije because alebrijes are extraordinary beings made from different animals, each bringing unique strengths. To us, they represent the complexity of the human experience. No person is defined by a single story, challenge, or identity.
At Happy Autumn, we are especially passionate about supporting First-Generation Latinas and other individuals navigating the unique pressures of culture, family expectations, identity, and mental health. We believe transformation is possible when people are given the space, support, and tools to grow into the version of themselves they want to become.

This symbol also reflects our clinicians and team. Just as we encourage our clients to embrace growth, we are committed to continuously learning, expanding our clinical knowledge, and refining our skills so we can provide the highest quality care possible. Growth is not only something we encourage in our clients—it is something we actively pursue ourselves.
Our monarch-deer alebrije serves as a reminder that healing is not about becoming someone different. It is about recognizing the strength, resilience, and wisdom that have been within you all along.
