Today’s Sacred Pause 🤍

Notice any sensation, emotion, or thought without requiring an immediate answer. Your mind can help name the pattern; your body may need time and steadiness to show you more. That is enough for this pause.

The Frozen Scream

When sudden loss teaches the heart to fear tomorrow.

Sometimes, the most difficult part of sudden loss isn't only learning to live without someone we love.

It's learning to feel safe in a world where the unimaginable has already happened.

We go on. We work, laugh, love, and build a life around the absence.

But somewhere along the way, fear may begin standing guard over tomorrow.

We worry about those we love. We imagine what could go wrong. We try to prepare ourselves for every possible sorrow, as though worrying enough might somehow protect us from another loss.

What if that fear is not an enemy to defeat but a part of us that has been trying to protect us for a very long time?

My newest reflection, The Frozen Scream, explores the relationship between sudden loss, grief, the body's protective responses, and the possibility of finding peace without letting go of love.

Perhaps healing isn't about forgetting what happened.

Perhaps it's about discovering that we no longer have to spend every tomorrow preparing for tragedy.

Love was never the thing that needed to be released. Only the belief that fear must accompany it.

I created something several weeks ago… and then, strangely, I never told anyone about it.

Which is rather fitting, because it is called **The Fear of Greatness.**

It began with a question that would not leave me alone:

**What if we are not always afraid of failure?
What if sometimes we are afraid of what it might mean to fully become who we are?**

What might it cost to be seen?

To take up space.

To acknowledge our gifts.

To stop shrinking.

To allow the life that keeps calling us to actually find us.

I kept following that thread, and what began as a reflection became something much deeper: a long-form teaching, a journaling journey, and eventually a 44-minute guided meditation called **Meeting the Part That Fears Your Greatness**.

And then I published everything.

And quietly walked away from it.

I even wrote myself a reminder on my shower door:

**Share The Fear of Greatness.**

This morning my eyes landed on those words again.

So perhaps this is my own next step through the threshold.

I am sharing it.

And here is the beautiful part I wasn't expecting: when I looked at YouTube this morning, **144 people had already found the meditation**, even though I had never shared it on social media or with my colleagues.

The offering had already begun finding its way.

Maybe now it is simply time for me to stop hiding the candle.

If something in you recognizes this conversation, I created this as more than something to read.

The website may call it a nine-minute read.

**It may take you an hour. It may take you several days.**

Find somewhere quiet. Bring a journal. Let yourself pause when something stirs.

And when you reach the meditation, put on your headphones and allow yourself to enter.

There is nothing to force.

Nothing to perform.

Nothing you need to become.

Perhaps there is simply a part of you that has been protecting you from being fully seen—and perhaps it is finally safe enough to be heard.

Some conversations stay with us long after they've ended.

Not because someone gave us the perfect advice.

But because, for a little while, we felt deeply seen.

I've been reflecting on those rare relationships that quietly become sacred—the friends who don't try to fix us, impress us, or rescue us. They simply walk beside us, holding a lantern while we find our own way.

This new essay, Sacred Friendships, is my attempt to honor those relationships and the quiet ways they shape who we become.

If someone comes to mind as you read it, perhaps let them know.

They may never realize how much light they've carried for you.

There are moments when life changes quietly.

A chapter ends.
A role completes.
A version of you finishes its work.
An old way of moving through life no longer fits.

And yet, there may be no dramatic ending.
No perfect clarity.
No obvious next step.

Just a quiet inner knowing:

I am standing at a threshold.

*Crossing the Threshold: A Sacred Pause for Completion & Orientation* is a self-paced online journey created for these moments.

Through six gentle stepping stones, guided meditations, and reflective prompts, you are invited to:

arrive gently
name what has been
acknowledge the inner shift
release without dramatizing
orient toward what is emerging
anchor the crossing into daily life

This is not a program about reinvention.

It is a practice of conscious completion and conscious becoming.

There is no start date.
No deadline.
No pressure to finish perfectly.

You can move in your own rhythm and return whenever life brings you to a meaningful doorway.

You are not starting over.

When a chapter ends, it can sometimes feel like everything before it has been lost, wasted, or left behind.

But that is not always what is happening.

Sometimes you are not beginning again from nothing.

You are beginning from wisdom.

From lived experience.
From clearer boundaries.
From deeper self-honesty.
From the truth you can no longer unsee.
From the parts of you that have softened, strengthened, or become more present.

Crossing a threshold does not mean abandoning who you have been.

It means recognizing what has completed itself, releasing what no longer belongs to the next chapter, and carrying forward what has become true.

You are not starting over.

You are carrying wisdom forward.

*Crossing the Threshold* is a self-paced ritual journey for conscious completion, gentle release, and grounded orientation when a chapter of life is ending.

Orientation comes before clarity.

Sometimes we wait to move forward until we know exactly where we are going.

We want the full plan.
The clear answer.
The next identity.
The certainty that we are making the right choice.

But thresholds rarely work that way.

Often, we do not know the whole path yet.

We only know that something has shifted.
We know the old way no longer fits.
We know we cannot return to the same unconscious pattern.
We know something quieter and truer is asking for our attention.

That knowing is enough to begin.

Not with pressure.
Not with urgency.
Not with forced clarity.

But with orientation.

A gentle turning toward what feels more honest, more grounded, more aligned.

I wrote *Crossing the Threshold: When the Inner Shift Becomes Real* for this tender space between what has been and what is becoming.

Release does not need drama to be real.

Sometimes we imagine letting go has to be intense.

A big emotional release.
A dramatic ending.
A final conversation.
A moment where everything becomes perfectly clear.

But sometimes release is much quieter than that.

It may happen when we stop arguing with what we already know.
When we stop carrying something that no longer belongs to the next chapter.
When we allow the past to remain meaningful without continuing to live from it.

Not everything has to be relived in order to be released.

Not everything has to be explained in order to be complete.

Sometimes the doorway opens when the truth inside us becomes too real to ignore.

I recorded *Crossing the Threshold: When the Inner Shift Becomes Real* as a spoken reflection for anyone standing in that tender space of completion, release, and becoming.

There are moments when something invisible seems to lean closer.

A song plays at the exact right time.
A feather appears.
A stranger says the words you needed.
A calm arrives in the middle of fear.
A quiet inner voice whispers, “You are not alone.”

This new blog post is a soulful reflection on angels—not as something we have to prove, but as a gentle intelligence many of us have felt in moments of grief, healing, transition, and awakening.

Maybe angels arrive as wings.

Maybe they arrive as timing.

Maybe they arrive as kindness, intuition, protection, or the strength to take one more breath.

May this be a soft reminder that you are surrounded by more support than you know.
