Teddy, biscuit loving corgi

10/24/2026

Tomorrow (Sunday, Oct. 25th) is the day for the biggest Corgi Halloween 🎃 Costume Parade in the U.S at The British Emporium in Grapevine! Texas corgis, this is my first time as parade grand marshal so I hope you'll join me (I'll be dressed as Harry Kane's biggest soccer fan) there at 1pm so we can make this the best corgi parade ever. There will be prizes for pups & pup parents from Hollywood Feed, plus a "pup & pup parent" gift basket from me in honor of my brother Bertie, the Emporium's first parade grand marshal. The corgi parade is -paws down- the highlight of the Emporium's annual Fall Car & Motorbike Show so bark big to everyone you know to come and enjoy some Halloween fun. Bring your cameras, too, to snap pics by cool vintage cars & motorbikes, plus Harry Potter & Dr. Who props, too!

Please say hi to my new "little brother from another mother." This is "PrairieJoy's Lord Montague of the British Realm, " aka "Monty." Monty was born in North Dakota but is now proud to call Texas home. And get this--he is related to Bertie from several generations back on his mother's side. Ask Mom and she'll tell you that the first time she saw Monty's photo she cried because his eyes, eyebrows, and "hammer mitts" look just like Bertie's--and that was before we learned of his lineage connection to Bertie. Between all of that and finding Monty with the help of Bertie's breeder, we feel like our precious angel Bertie had his paws in bringing Monty to us and is now smiling down at us from his Heavenly corgi cloud as we introduce this sweet little fella to you all.

I'm enjoying being a big brother and Mom says I haven't smiled this much in the past 7 months. While Bertie will always be in our hearts, it felt like Bertie was now saying, "It's time to love another corgi, too," and so we are. Monty, we ❤ you and are glad you're part of our family now, too. We hope everyone in Corgi Nation will love Monty, too.

Please join me in declaring this as "Awesome Corgi Big Brother Day" in honor of my big brother Bertie, who got his angel wings 6 months ago today. As many of you know, Bertie was so full of love, and joy that he couldn't help but share it with everyone he met. He even started every day with such a big smile that Mom's first words of the day became, "Good morning, sunshine!"

Bertie loved barking big about Three Dog Bakery and The British Emporium (especially as grand marshal of their corgi costume parades, on NBC's Texas Today and in a London newspaper during King Charles's coronation). He smiled extra big every time he saw his friends from PBS's KERA and WRR 101 radio. Bertie was thrilled when so many of you became his friends here because it meant he could spread joy and happiness across the globe, too. He was even more excited to get to meet many of you in person, too.

Most of all, Bertie loved Mom and me. We loved him to bits not only then, but now and forever, too. I'm doing my best to continue Bertie's legacy of sending love, happiness, and joy out into the world and appreciate your support as I try. Here's to Bertie, the most awesome corgi big brother in the world!
