I AM HIM
Healing In Motion
Day 31/31

As this 31-day challenge comes to a close, one thing became clear

Healing was never meant to happen alone.

Over the last month, we talked about mental health, fatherhood, boundaries, community, healing, and growth.

We moved our bodies.
We checked our minds.
We challenged ourselves to become more intentional.

And through it all, I was reminded of the importance of brotherhood.

Shout out to for creating a space where men can show up authentically, have real conversations, build accountability, and continue growing together.

The challenge may be ending, but the mission continues.

Keep showing up.
Keep growing.
Keep healing.

Because the goal was never 31 days.

The goal was creating a lifestyle.

Healing In Motion
Day 30/31

One of the biggest signs of growth is when you stop asking who's to blame?

And start asking

What's my next step?

Accountability is about taking ownership of the parts of your life you can actually control.

You can't always control what happened to you.
But you can control what happens next.

Healing begins when responsibility becomes greater than your excuses.

Move your body
Check your mind
Do the work.

Day 29/31

My bad im late yall!

Most people don't ignore their mental health because they don't care.

They ignore it because nothing feels urgent... yet.

Until the relationship starts suffering.
Until the stress becomes overwhelming.
Until the burnout catches up.

But mental health was never meant to be reactive.

The strongest habits are built before they're needed.

Check in before you're overwhelmed.
Rest before you're exhausted.
Ask for support before you're drowning.

Maintenance always costs less than repair.

Move your body
Check your mind
Stay consistent

Day 27/31

Children learn emotional habits long before they fully understand emotions themselves.

They watch how adults respond to stress.
How conflict gets handled.
How love is expressed.
How emotions are either acknowledged… or ignored.

A lot of parenting isn’t taught through words.

It’s taught through behavior.

That’s why self-awareness matters so much as a parent.

Because the way we regulate ourselves often becomes part of what our children carry into adulthood.

Ask yourself:

What emotional habits are my children learning from me daily?

Move your body.
Check your mind.
Stay intentional.

BE WEARY OF EMOTIONAL LEECHES

Not everybody who needs your presence deserves access to your spirit.

Emotional leeches often attach themselves to people who are nurturing, emotionally aware, dependable, and safe.

Pay attention to patterns

You can love people and still protect your peace.

Day 28/31

A home can have love in it… and still lack emotional safety.

A lot of people grew up learning how to avoid conflict, hide emotions, or stay silent just to keep peace inside the home.

And those patterns often follow people into adulthood and relationships.

Emotional safety is created through honesty, communication, patience, and the ability to make people feel heard without fear of shame or rejection.

Because people heal differently when they feel safe enough to be themselves.

Not perfect homes, Safe ones.

Ask yourself:

Do the people around me feel emotionally safe in my presence?

Move your body.
Check your mind.
Do the work.

Day 26/31

In our community, struggle is often expected… but healing still gets questioned.

People are praised for surviving pain, staying strong, and pushing through exhaustion… yet vulnerability, therapy, and emotional honesty are still uncomfortable conversations for many.

But constantly carrying unprocessed pain is not strength.

Healing requires us to challenge the idea that suffering in silence is normal.

Because survival mode may protect you for a season… but healing is what changes generations.

Ask yourself:

What have I normalized that actually needs healing?

Move your body.
Check your mind.
Do the work.

Day 25/31

PPA — Patrescence Perinatal Adjustment: coined by the is the emotional, mental, identity, and lifestyle transition men experience while becoming fathers.

A lot of fathers are navigating this shift silently.

The pressure increases.
The responsibilities change.
The identity shifts.

And while society often celebrates fatherhood externally… many men are internally trying to figure out who they are becoming in the process.

A lot of fathers are grieving old versions of themselves while simultaneously trying to show up for their families every day.

That adjustment is real.

Big ups to @ DSSC for continuing to create spaces where fathers and men can have honest conversations around identity, mental health, healing, and fatherhood.

Because becoming a father changes you mentally, emotionally, and personally.

And more men deserve space to process that openly.

Also is present and available for all men to come feel supported an seen as well!

Move your body
Check your mind
Stay intentional.

Day 24/ 31

We’ve normalized checking on moms after birth.
But too many fathers are silently struggling while being expected to “just handle it.”

Postpartum adjustment affects fathers too. The pressure to provide, stay strong, protect, support, and suppress emotions can take a real mental and emotional toll.

That’s why conversations around PPA (Patrescence Perinatal Adjustment) matter.

Fatherhood changes a man mentally, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually.

And when fathers are supported, families become stronger..

It’s awareness, healing & growth

Day 23/31

Healing isn’t always about pushing harder.

Sometimes it looks like slowing down long enough to enjoy the people you’re building life with.

Today was spent celebrating my daughter’s 3rd birthday, laughing, being present, and making memories.

And honestly… that’s part of mental health too.

A lot of people are so focused on surviving life that they forget to actually experience it.

Don’t get so busy building life that you forget to live it.

Move your body
Love on your people
Stay present.
