So true!

For every mom who had to put her baby in a bouncer in the bathroom just so she could take a shower because there was nobody else to help...

You are capable of any and everything in this world.

I still remember rushing through a 3-minute shower while drawing little circles and smiley faces on the foggy glass door so my baby wouldn't cry.

To the moms who learned how to p*e while holding a sleeping baby.

The moms who mastered eating, cleaning, texting, and surviving with one hand.

Bonus points if you've ever changed a tampon, brushed your teeth, or sat on the toilet with a baby in your lap. 😭

Learning to do everything one-handed isn't for the weak.

Neither is timing your entire existence around naps.

Neither is taking "tween-mom showers" where you're constantly p*eking out to make sure everyone's still alive.

Nobody gives out medals for these things.

But they should.

Because some of the strongest women in the world are moms doing impossible things every day with no help, no breaks, and no audience.

And somehow, they still keep showing up.

The most dangerous thing a woman can do in pregnancy is blindly trust that everyone knows what’s best for her.

That sentence makes people uncomfortable.

Good. It should.

Because somewhere along the way, women were taught that asking questions in pregnancy means they’re “difficult.”
That researching is “going down rabbit holes.”
That advocating for themselves is being “noncompliant.”

Meanwhile, informed consent is supposed to be the foundation of maternity care.

Women deserve to know:
• WHY something is being recommended
• the risks and benefits
• alternatives
• what happens if they wait
• what happens if they decline
That’s not being rebellious.
That’s being informed.
And no, this doesn’t mean all doctors or hospitals are bad.

There are incredible providers who deeply respect women and practice evidence-based care.

But providers are human.
Hospitals have policies.
Fear of liability exists.
Convenience sometimes influences decisions.
And not every recommendation is automatically the only safe option.

Women deserve education, not intimidation.

Because a woman who understands her options is not harder to care for.
She’s empowered.

And birth outcomes are often better when women feel safe, respected, informed, and involved in decisions surrounding their own bodies.

The goal should never be blind obedience.
The goal should be collaborative care.
That conversation alone could change birth culture.

💕💕 BABY FACT 💕💕
During a vaginal birth, pressure on a baby's head may cause it to "mold" into a cone or oblong shape making it easier to fit through the birth canal.

This abnormal head shape is a normal part of the childbirth process called "molding" and usually disappears just a few days after birth for most babies.

A newborn's skull bones are soft and flexible which allow for this process. Between the bones there are large gaps called "cranial sutures", and even larger openings (one in the front of the baby's head and one in the back) called "fontanels".

These are the soft spots that you can feel when you touch your baby's head.

The large spaces between the bones will not only allow the head to change shape for birth, but also accommodate the baby's rapidly growing brain which will double in size by the time they hit their first birthday!

Most will fully close by the age of 2, when brain growth reaches about 80% of its full size.

Most babies born to first time moms or labors with a longer pushing stage, will have some degree of head molding after delivery. While babies born by Cesarean section or a quick vaginal birth, more often have rounder heads.
