✨✨ Today was absolutely surreal.

As I was coming down an escalator at the airport, my suitcase suddenly went rogue. 😅 Standing right in front of me was Charles Johnson, and for a moment I was certain I was about to send both of us tumbling down the escalator.

Thankfully, that didn't happen.

Instead, Charles was gracious, kind, and helped make sure we both made it down safely.

Later, as I reflected on the encounter and listened to Yes Season by , I realized how often we misunderstand what a season of yes really means.

Many of us think a yes season is about our own elevation. The doors that open. The opportunities that come.

But sometimes a yes season is about the people God places in our path. 🙏🏾

Meeting Charles reminded me of that.

Through and , Charles has transformed unimaginable pain into purpose, advocating for mothers, families, and fathers across the country.

No one is more full of empty s*x promises than a postpartum, breastfeeding mama. 🤪💜

"I promise tonight."

"Maybe after the baby goes to sleep."

"Tomorrow for sure."

And then tonight comes... and you're exhausted, touched out, leaking milk, and wondering why anyone wants anything from your body ever again. 😅

As someone who's divorced, I don't pretend to be an expert on marriage after babies. But looking back, I wish more people had talked openly about how easy it is to lose each other during the newborn years.

Not because anyone is a bad spouse.

Not because anyone is failing.

Simply because survival mode doesn't leave much room for connection.

We've talked about what dads need to understand during this season. But moms, can we have an honest conversation too?

Trying so hard to stay awake for the bo***es 😭🤍

These moments are funny, beautiful, natural, and honestly a little miraculous.

My mission will always be to normalize breastfeeding because there is nothing shameful about a mother feeding her baby. These moments are not s*xual. They are not inappropriate. They are real life, real motherhood, real connection.

And I refuse to let mothers be shamed for something so biologically normal and deeply beautiful.

🚨THIS POST IS ONLY REFFERING TO INFANTS 12 MONTHS AND OLDER🚨

Having an infant with CMPA or being a plant-based family can be very challenging for many moms. I hope you find this guide helpful.

Things to consider:

1. Infants with CMPA have a 50% chance of having a Soy protein allergy.

2. Infants with a CMPA also can have a 🐐 goat milk or other mammal milk allergy.

3. Limit servings to no more 2-3 servings a day to prevent displacing critical nutrition from solid food.

I will do a whole other graphic on serving sizes and food sources of critical nutrients including protein, calcium, iron and vitamins.

This is how you establish an adequate supply as an exclusive pumper. I can't stress enough how important what you do in those first few days after you deliver and the following weeks is to your overall breast feedinig success.

If chest-feeding is not going well, DO NOT HESITATE TO:

1️⃣. Get help

2️⃣. Break out the pump. I am always heartbroken when there is a delay in establishing pumping because moms have been scared and misinformed about pumping in the first few days of life

3️⃣. Give yourself some grace. It's not as easy as we try and make it look. There is nothing wrong with you. It is NOT your fault.
