In 2005, my brother Elijah Alexander III was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma which is a form of blood cancer that affects the bones. Over the next 5 years he would dedicate his life to helping families victimized by the deadly disease by providing financial assistance, funding research, and publicly speaking to drive awareness. On March 24th, 2010, Elijah died from complications related to the disease and his treatment. It is now my time to carry the torch and help put an end to this disease that has impacted virtually every person in some form or fashion. I need your help!
Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising event Blood, Sweat, and Cures. This will be a fun-filled event (see attached flyer) that will promote health & fitness, get you well on your way to shaping the summer BOD with a killer WOD.
Everyone wins when cancer loses, and thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund the therapies and treatments that save lives, not someday but today.
Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers! All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
