Last Tuesday, our very own Mike celebrated 24 YEARS of sobriety! 🎉👏

To put that into perspective…

✨ Mike has been sober long enough to see:
👶 An entire generation grow from newborns to college graduates!
📬 Netflix went from mailing DVDs to becoming a streaming giant.
🌐 Wikipedia didn’t even exist when Mike started his recovery journey.
🎮 Blowing into Nintendo cartridges felt like legitimate technology repair.
📞 “Hanging up” the phone actually meant hanging it up.
🎵 LimeWire “downloads” came with equal chances of viruses and disappointment.
🧦 People wore toe socks unironically.
🚘 Cars had ashtrays built into the doors.
📻 Recording your favorite song off the radio required Olympic-level timing.
🍕 Pizza Hut dine-ins with red cups were elite.📱 Texting with T9 predictive text took actual skill.
📸 Disposable cameras were essential for vacations.
🦖 People genuinely worried their computers might explode during Y2K.
🎧 iPods came out… and somehow are now considered “retro.”
🤖 Artificial intelligence went from science fiction movies to helping people with everyday tasks.
🚀 Humans built and continuously lived aboard the International Space Station.
🐼 Giant pandas were removed from the endangered species list.
📞 Long-distance phone calls were something people actually thought about before making.
🎶 If you wanted a playlist, you burned a CD and hoped it didn’t skip.
📷 You couldn’t see your pictures until you developed the film.
📼 People rewound VHS tapes before returning them.
🎶 Ringback tones were considered peak technology.
💻 Families shared ONE computer in the house.
📺 TV guides were an actual channel.
🍿 Friday nights meant going to Blockbuster and hoping the movie you wanted wasn’t already rented out.
📝 Teachers used overhead projectors with transparency sheets.

We could go on & on… but we won’t 🤭

🥋💙 Veda Shows Up. Every Time. 💙🥋

This weekend, our Veda family packed the stands and showed up in a big way to support our brothers competing in a Jiu-Jitsu tournament. The medals are incredible, but what stood out even more was the unity, encouragement, and brotherhood on display.

Recovery teaches us that we never have to do life alone, and this picture is proof of that. Every man here represents resilience, growth, and the power of community. Whether competing on the mat, cheering from the sidelines, or simply showing up for one another, these men continue to demonstrate what recovery in action looks like.

At Veda, we celebrate every victory on the mat, in recovery, and in life. We are proud of each and every one of these men for their courage, dedication, and willingness to support one another.

Brotherhood. Recovery. Accountability. Growth.

Congratulations to all of our competitors, and thank you to everyone who came out to support. The Veda family is stronger together. 💪🔥

✨🏳️‍🌈 Pride rocked… and Veda showed up BIG. 🏳️‍🌈✨

This past weekend, our Veda crew spent time out in the community at Pride Rocks and if there’s one thing we want people to know, it’s this: the men at Veda are absolute shining stars. ⭐

Recovery is about so much more than abstinence. It’s about showing up. Being seen. Building connection. Finding purpose. Creating community. And having the courage to stand confidently in who you are.

Watching our guys engage, laugh, connect, and represent recovery with authenticity and heart reminded us exactly why this work matters. Every conversation, every smile, every moment of presence matters.

We are endlessly proud of the men of Veda for showing that recovery is vibrant, inclusive, joyful, and full of possibility. 💙

Today, the guys held group at Daniel’s Peace Memorial Park 🤍

Recovery conversations in spaces like this carry weight. They remind us that addiction does not discriminate, and neither should access to treatment. Every person battling substance use deserves compassion, dignity, and the opportunity to receive life saving care without stigma or barriers.

We are grateful to the Weidle family for turning unimaginable loss into advocacy, awareness, and hope for others. Daniel’s Peace stands as a reminder that recovery is worth fighting for, people are worth fighting for, and change is possible when we choose education, compassion, and action over judgment. 🤍

We’ve started incorporating gardening into the Chariot program. 🌱

It creates space for routine, responsibility, and follow-through. Clients show up, tend to something that relies on them, and see the direct result of their effort over time.

It’s simple, but it’s intentional & it’s already doing what we hoped it would do.
