Today we were working through the Celebrate Recovery Steps at the McMinn County Justice Center, and it has been amazing watching these men grow week after week.

Today’s lesson was “TURN.”

And as you probably guessed, it’s about more than just turning from our sin—it’s about turning toward God.

God orchestrated a great lesson today, but what happened after we wrapped up is something I’ll never forget.

A young man who I won’t name, who was a Muslim, came up to me and asked, “Can you pray for me?”

“Absolutely. What can we pray about?”

He looked at me and said, “I want to ask Jesus into my life.”

BOOM!! I said, “Heck yeah, bro. Let’s go!”

And right there, we prayed.

HUGE AMEN!

I share this for one reason:

KEEP SHOWING UP.
Keep showing up when you’re tired.
Keep showing up when you wonder if anyone is listening.
Keep showing up when you don’t think you’re making an impact.
Because God is working in places you can’t see and in hearts you may not even realize He’s touching.

God is always writing a story.

And today, Nyzaya gave the pen to Jesus.

Dinner will be catered and served from 6:00–7:00 PM, giving everyone an opportunity to enjoy a meal and connect before the service.

Happy Father's Day!

My wife had to work today, and my middle daughter, Khloe, left for a mission trip. Which I am genuinely grateful for... but seriously, who leaves on Father's Day for a mission trip? 😂 That would've never happened on Mother's Day. We all know it.

This morning, I got up to get ready for church, and my wife and kids had already laid out cards and a gift on the table. The gift was a dog tag engraved with the Serenity Prayer. Honestly, one of the best gifts I've ever received.

Sometimes I get accustomed to the gifts God has given me. I get used to them. I can unintentionally take them for granted. But today was a reminder that these gifts are miracles I never deserved.

If it weren't for a praying mama and a praying wife, I probably wouldn't be celebrating Father's Day at all. God's love, expressed through the faithfulness of people who refused to give up on me, helped push me toward freedom.

This dog tag means more than metal and words. It's a reminder of a life I almost lost, a family I almost forfeited, and a grace I still stand amazed by.

Today I celebrate being a husband, a son, and a father, but most of all, I celebrate because of the ultimate Father and Son combination. God the Father sent His Son so that broken people like me could be redeemed, restored, and called sons ourselves.

So today I'm thankful for serenity, for second chances, for praying women, for daughters on mission, and for a Heavenly Father who never stopped pursuing me.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Keep showing up. Someone sees you, someone needs you, and God isn't finished with you yet.

We were missing a few this morning. But I love them. Kasey Tiffany Goins(Tiffany), Khloe and Jayljn

Yesterday marked 9 years of freedom (5/21/2017).

Not white-knuckling it.
Not sleeping half the day just to avoid temptation.
Real freedom from addiction.

And I’ll say it plainly—only through Jesus Christ can someone experience true freedom.

I didn’t even post yesterday because, honestly, I forgot. We had Celebrate Recovery, I was handing out chips, and it slipped my mind. And that says something… when you’re walking in the freedom He gives, you don’t live staring at the old life anymore.

That version of me? It’s a co**se He left behind.

But I still count.
Not for me anymore—I count for you.

Because someone out there is still struggling. Someone still feels stuck in sin, addiction, shame. And you need to know: freedom is real.

So celebrate the day you were reborn.
And if you’re still waiting for that day—don’t lose hope.

To those walking in freedom: share your story.
It doesn’t matter how educated you are or how simple you think you sound. The moment you share what Jesus has done in your life, you become a theologian.

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” — Revelation 12:11

So stop counting for yourself.
Start counting for others.

Here’s to hope.
Here’s to freedom.
Here’s to what He’s done—and what He’s still doing.
