What a wonderful Friday! Fridays are always special, but today was extra meaningful as residents & staff joined together to dress in ALL PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness! From getting creative with some fun, artistic activities to enjoying a delicious lunch at one of our residents’ favorite spots, Panda Express, we had a day full of smiles and fun! And, of course, no Friday would be complete without a couple of exciting games of BINGO—made even sweeter with a yummy Breast Cancer Awareness cake! 🎂

Great games, tasty treats, and wonderful friends made for the perfect end to the week, all while supporting a cause that is near and dear to several of our residents’ hearts.

What a wild and wonderful day! From more creative fun with pumpkins to another lively Sittersize class, we were just getting warmed up!
The highlight of the day? A totally unexpected Cheese Puff & Shaving Cream Challenge! Everyone may have felt a little crazy as they put on their shower caps before sprayed shaving cream, but what a good laugh we all had! Between the friendly competition, flying cheese puff balls, shaving cream everywhere, and a few sneaky snackers enjoying the cheese puffs before the challenge even began… there was never a dull moment!

With beautiful weather, plenty of laughter, and memories we won’t soon forget, it’s safe to say this was one for the books! Sometimes the best days are the ones that get a little messy!

What a wonderful Wednesday! We kicked off the day with plenty of laughter and carrying on over a festive and very sparkly Fall craft, followed by our first walk outside! With a little cooler weather finally arriving, everyone was excited to get outdoors and enjoy it.

The highlight of the day was, of course, another amazing visit from Josh Lightfoot! With his banjo, guitar, and harmonica, Josh delivered another one-of-a-kind performance that had residents smiling, singing, and talking about the rest of the day.

On Wednesdays, staff and residents wear red, so it was icing on the cake of a great day to see Josh wearing a little red too!

Great music, cooler weather, Fall fun, and good friends—the perfect combination for a wonderful Wednesday!

Tuesday was a wonderful day filled with faith, movement, music & friendship! We started with a meaningful Bible Study in the Book of John, followed by a lively Sittersize class as we welcomed some new residents to the fun.

We wrapped up the day with another fantastic performance by Terry Lakes, who always brings smiles as he effortlessly plays both the piano and harmonica while residents happily sing along to some timeless classics.

We also kicked off our first Halloween craft of the season, repurposing old CDs into what’s sure to become a fun & festive decoration once finished.

A great day of laughter, new friendships, music, movement and a little Halloween creativity!

What better way to beat the Monday blues than starting the week with wonderful music! Steve Layne had our residents enjoying a fantastic performance, followed by a relaxing Barista Social where friends could catch up on the weekend, share some laughs, and reflect on a great performance over a cup of coffee.

Add in our weekly trip out to replenish supplies and prepare for the week ahead, and it made for a full but wonderful Monday! Good music, good friends, and good times—a great way to kick off what looks to be another great week!

What a lively and fun Friday—and the perfect way to wrap up a great week! We enjoyed more Fall fun with scarecrows and preparing for Halloween, followed by a boisterous & lively game of Balloon Volleyball filled with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of movement! It’s quickly become a popular request among our residents, and we love seeing them stay active while spending time with good friends.

Of course, Friday wouldn’t be complete without our favorite tradition—BINGO! Today’s theme was Nerd Day, and while it may not have been as popular as some of our past themes, it was wonderful to see those who joined in the fun—especially our wonderful staff! Seeing residents and staff dress up, laugh, and enjoy the theme together was the perfect way to end the week.

What a lively & wonderful Wednesday! Great time was spent welcoming a few new residents to Governors Ridge and getting to know some new friends. We enjoyed more Fall fun with scarecrows & Fall leaves, relaxed with a little coffee & cocktails, and wrapped up the day with Tracie Warnick for a super exciting game of Wheel of Fortune!

A fabulous day filled with new friendships, familiar faces, laughter, and plenty of time together!

One of our residents’ favorite parts of the week is getting moving during our weekly Sittersize class! It’s the perfect combination of movement, laughter, encouragement, and time spent with friends—all while focusing on physical wellness.

We’ve talked a lot lately about how important it is to make movement a consistent part of our routines. Whether it’s walking, stretching, physical games, or Sittersize, every bit of movement counts toward maintaining strength, mobility, and overall wellness for the long run.

Today’s session brought plenty of good movement, support, and, as always, lots of laughter and camaraderie! We love seeing our residents take an interest in their long-term well-being—and having a great time while doing it! ❤️

Residents as well welcomed a wonderful new entertainer, Kevin Polk. From singing a great compilation of classics by Elvis, Randy Travis, Willie Nelson & Ray Charles while incorporating humor throughout, Kevin put on a wonderful show & residents are excited to see him again soon for some more great country music!

Beat the Monday blues with a busy but enjoyable start to the week! We kicked things off with our weekly trip out to replenish supplies, then came back ready for some more Fall fun! Residents got creative with adorable gnomes, festive wreaths, and beautiful Fall garland while enjoying great conversation and time together. Now we’re just patiently awaiting those cooler temperatures!

Friday was a wonderful way to wrap up the week! We enjoyed some great movement during Sittersize, got creative making adorable Fall gnomes, and of course finished with everyone’s favorite Friday tradition—Bingo!

With Fancy Friday as the theme, it was extra fun seeing everyone dressed in their best. A wonderful day filled with laughter, creativity, and a little friendly competition!
