A little live music is good for the soul! 🎶

Our residents always enjoy when Josh Lightfoot visits to share his incredible bluegrass music, and today's performance was no exception. Everyone was amazed as he played both the harmonica and guitar while singing along—a talent that never fails to impress!

As always, Josh put on a fantastic show that had residents clapping, singing along, and even doing a little dancing. The smiles and laughter throughout the room made it clear just how much everyone enjoyed the afternoon.

We're already looking forward to his return next month, especially since he'll be bringing his wonderful wife to sing alongside him. Thank you, Josh, for another amazing performance and for sharing your talent with us!

To celebrate the start of the Summer season, which is just a week away, our residents had a wonderful time getting creative and sharing plenty of laughs while making these adorable mini cactus rocks! 🌵☀️

Each resident is creating enough cactus rocks to fill their own small planter, bringing together all of their unique creations into one charming display. Every cactus rock was full of personality and creativity, making this the perfect start to what promises to be one of the cutest crafts our residents have worked on yet.

The activity room was filled with laughter, creativity, and great conversation as everyone enjoyed spending time together. While no one is particularly excited about the Texas heat that Summer is sure to bring, our residents are definitely looking forward to the sunshine and all the fun that comes with the season.

From creating Beaded Wire Chandeliers to painting colorful Summer fruit masterpieces, we have plenty of exciting activities planned to keep everyone creative, engaged, and cool in the air conditioning throughout the Summer months.

We can't wait to watch our residents continue making memories, expressing their creativity, and having fun together all Summer long while beating the heat and enjoying each other's company! ☀️🎨🌵❤️

Thanks to festive decorations, fun games, creative costumes, and some of the best entertainers around, our residents have stayed busy making memories and celebrating each holiday over the past few months! 🎉

From dressing in green and having a blast with Nerf gun fun on St. Patrick’s Day, to welcoming a special visit from the Easter Bunny and enjoying an Easter egg hunt, every celebration has been filled with smiles, laughter, dancing, and wonderful moments together. Add in picture boards, themed activities, and plenty of opportunities to socialize, and it’s safe to say our residents have had an amazing time!

As we look ahead to the upcoming holiday season, everyone is excited and ready for even more fun, laughter, and special events. We can’t wait to continue creating meaningful experiences and making lasting memories together with our residents, families, and staff.

What a fun-filled Crazy Sock Day we had today! 🧦🎉

Our residents definitely brought their A-game, showing off some of the most creative, colorful, and unique sock patterns that perfectly matched their wonderful personalities. We love seeing our residents express their individual style while coming together to admire each other's creativity and cheer one another on.

The laughter, smiles, and conversations shared throughout the day made this activity even more special. From planning their outfits to showing off their final looks, everyone had a great time participating and supporting one another.

Residents are already excited to find out next Friday's theme and begin creating their next festive ensemble! Seeing the joy that these themed dress-up days bring, along with the friendships and encouragement they inspire, is exactly why this has become such a beloved weekly tradition.

From delicious food to even better conversations, plenty of laughter, and countless smiles, our lunch outing to Panda Express was a wonderful success! Of course, the Orange Chicken remained the crowd favorite, but the true highlight was seeing our residents enjoying time together, sharing stories, laughter, and meaningful connections over a great meal.

We love creating opportunities for our residents to get out, socialize, and make memories with one another, and today’s outing was no exception.

A special thank you to the amazing staff at Panda Express for always being so welcoming and accommodating. From the moment we walk through the doors until the time we leave, they go above and beyond to ensure our residents have an exceptional experience every single time. We truly appreciate your kindness and hospitality! ❤️🥡🥠

Every week, together the staff & residents all join together to match wearing a different designated color for each day of the week(Blue is the chosen color for Tuesdays, on Wednesdays everyone wears red, Thursdays are for pink, etc). Everyone’s favorite days however are typically Fridays as a different theme is chosen & shared for all to dress as that coming Friday. Themes such as Crazy Hat day, Pajama day, Western Wear day, Hawaiian day & this week is crazy socks day, keeps the residents engaged with one another while having fun & and laughing together as they piece together their unique, and rather funny & creative outfits & accessories! Some have become very creative and quite committed to preparing the best ensembles they can and have so much fun each week in anticipation to seeing everyone’s final product. Regardless of what everyone’s decided to wear, seeing them all share a good laugh in preparation for Friday’s costume reveal continues to be such a wonderful part of their week & brings joy to all staff & residents alike, making it a continued weekly tradition we’ll continue looking forward to!

We kicked off summer with a Family Night filled with great company, delicious food, and wonderful entertainment!

While we love serving our residents every day, it's always a special pleasure to welcome and serve their families as well. Seeing everyone come together for an evening of laughter, connection, and fun made this event truly memorable.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible employees and home health agency partners who helped make this night such a success. Your hard work, dedication, and support are what make events like this possible. We couldn't do what we do without each and every one of you!

One of the residents' absolute favorite days each month is when Mary and Duane from Hippies Gone Silver come to play for them. From the moment the singing and guitar playing begin, the residents stay busy laughing, singing along, shaking their shoulders, clapping, and stomping as loudly as they can to favorite classic songs like Peggy Sue, My Girl, and Rock Around the Clock.

It's always wonderful to see them spending time with Mary and Duane, sharing laughs, reminiscing about songs that bring back cherished memories, and admiring just how talented they truly are. From their seemingly effortless guitar playing to the songs they share that often spark treasured memories, Hippies Gone Silver continues to be one of the most beloved entertainers at Governors Ridge!

Thank you, Mary and Duane, for bringing so much joy, laughter, and music to our residents each month. ❤️🎶

What a great time we had at our Family Night Celebration to kickoff Summer. The night was full of great company & laughs, delicious food & amazing entertainment provided by the wonderful Andy Goin!

Seeing everyone come together to share a wonderful dinner and make so many fun new memories made it the perfect way to kickoff the Summer season. We are already looking forward to our next family night!
