Julieta Vargas, MSW, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker with over five years of experience, working with individuals of diverse backgrounds.

She offers therapy and psychological immigration evaluations Hello and bienvenidos! I am a bilingual and bi-literate Mexican-American Latina. I am also the daughter of immigrant parents. My experience has consisted of working with diverse families and individuals who have survived a traumatic event. I am particularly skilled in working with the Latinx community while offering a culturally competent approach. I primarily work with young/individual adults. As a social worker, I have worked in schools, non-profit organizations, and community mental health centers. I believe that people hold the strength and power to create change within themselves. I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens to support you with exploring/processing different concerns and challenges in life. I aim to offer a calm and open space for you to be vulnerable and feel safe.

Have you ever experienced any tension in your body and aren’t sure why? Any illness that is unexplained? Ever throw up when feeling anxious or throw up, get anxiety, not eat/sleep and then fall into that vicious cycle for days? We can’t heal trauma without looking into the body and we can’t heal trauma without accepting that we have trauma.

Día de los mu***os - Day of the dead.

As a Latinx community we hold the tradition of celebrating/remembering our loved ones who have passed away. This is celebrated on November 1st - 2nd. Losing someone puts us in a stage of grief and understanding this process can be difficult. Understanding the process can provide space for grace and compassion.

A couple of months ago I decided to start my own private practice to support young Latinx individuals in navigating their mental health. I encounter a lot of questions like "What even is mental health?" or "I am irritated but I don't know why". Mental health and self-care go beyond more than just putting on some cumbias or senti music and cleaning on a Saturday morning. I hope this page can provide insight into what it looks like and means to be a young Latinx navigating mental health and how to find support for it.
