Ok, we’re not saying exercise fixes everything, but low-impact movement can improve your mood.

The gym is great. So is gentle stretching, walking, or even chair-based exercise.

✔️ Regular movement, even light-intensity activity, significantly reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety. (Singh et al., 2023)
✔️ Mental health improvements were seen across all ability levels and age groups.
✔️ The key is consistency, not intensity.

See if you can add some joyful movement to your day. Try a few squats or calf raises while your coffee is brewing. It counts!

Happy Father’s Day!

To all the dads, in every form, thank you for all that you do.

And if this holiday is complicated or painful, we see you too.

When people think about therapy, they often think about anxiety or depression.

But people come to therapy for all kinds of reasons: grief, burnout, relationship challenges, infertility, pregnancy loss, chronic illness, caregiver stress, major life transitions, and more.

Life doesn’t always fit neatly into a diagnosis.

Therapy can be a place to process what's happening, learn new coping skills, work through difficult emotions, improve relationships, or just sort through things with someone in your corner.

And these are just a few examples. Therapy can also help with concerns like substance use, phobias, and many other challenges.

Migraines and mental health often affect each other in ways people don't always realize.

Stress can trigger migraines. Migraines can disrupt sleep, work, school, and social activities. Missing out on the things that matter most can then worsen anxiety, depression, and isolation.
It's a cycle that can be difficult to break.

In this video, our co-founder Annmarie explains why she says migraines and mental health "don't play well in the sandbox together."

Living with chronic migraine can take a toll on mental health. Several of our clinicians work with clients navigating chronic illness, chronic pain, anxiety, and the challenges that come with managing ongoing health conditions.

Dr. Alessio Luinetti, psychiatrist, Director of TMS Programming, and an equity partner at Zephyr, recently joined Coeli Dwivedi on the EntheoHour podcast.

In the interview, Dr. Luinetti discusses provider burnout, the importance of innovation in medicine, and the intersection of psychiatry and psychedelic medicine. He also explains why staying up to date with research is so important as mental health care continues to evolve.

Thank you to Coeli and the Entheogen Institute for creating space for these important conversations.

It’s no secret here at Zephyr that we believe in the power of relationships and community. We talk a lot about how connection can support mental health, but research suggests it affects our physical health, too.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified loneliness as a global health priority. It’s associated with an estimated 162,000 deaths each year in the United States and a higher risk of serious disease.

Researchers are also exploring the connection between our social lives and the gut microbiome. People with larger social networks tend to have more diverse microbiomes, while anxiety and stress are associated with less diversity (Johnson, 2020).

One recent study found that spouses and people living in the same household shared the most microbes. Researchers also found increased microbial sharing between friends and even friends of friends (Beghini et al., 2025).

Gut health isn’t as simple as “make more friends.” But the research supports what many of us already intuitively know: we’re connected to each other in ways we don’t always see.

Who are the people who help you feel connected?

It's easy to scroll social media and assume everyone else has it together.

Last week at Zephyr included a stomach bug, dirty dishes, mold remediation, and a credentials typo that somehow happened twice.

It also included some happy plants, getting accepted to grad school, and presenting at .

Ya win some, ya lose some. What's a win or a loss you've had lately?
