5 ways my Lao roots show up in Saola Sparkle sound baths. Swipe through, then read the full story here. 🇱🇦✨

Happy AAPI Month!

01. The name.
The Saola a/k/a Asian unicorn — a real, living creature found deep in the Annamite Mountains of Laos. Elusive. Magical. Incredibly rare. When I was searching for a name that captured the spirit of this work, the Saola chose me. That’s the energy I want Saola Sparkle to carry: something ancient, something sacred, something most people haven’t encountered yet, but that moves them when they do. 🦄

02. The setup.
In Lao culture, the head is the most sacred part of the body and the feet the least. That’s why every sound bath is arranged with guests’ heads toward me so I can hold that space with intention. And you will never see me stepping over your head while I move through the space. It’s a small thing most guests don’t notice. But to me, it’s everything.

03. Shoes off.
In Lao homes, you remove your shoes before entering and it marks a shift from the outside world into something more intentional. I bring that same energy into every session I host. We’re leaving the day’s weight, the outside energy, all the ick at the door where it belongs. ✨

04. The Baci.
The Lao Baci is a sacred ceremony centered around calling your spirit back home. For special sound bath occasions, I weave in ceremony inspired by this practice. Many of the strings I use were handmade by my mother’s family, blessed by local Buddhist monks, and carried over from the Lao village she grew up in. When those strings are present, so is that lineage — that love — that prayer. 🤍

05. The send-off.
Speaking my language is something I’ll always take pride in. So at the end of a sound bath, I close with a heartfelt Lao farewell:

“Sokdee, You Dee Mi Hang.”
